Welcome to PokerScout's complete coverage of the Microgaming Network! Brought to you
in cooperation with Microgaming, our Microgaming traffic report now offers an unprecedented level of insight
into one of the world's largest poker networks.
Breaking The Network Mold
In a traditional poker network, every site or "skin" is virtually identical
except for the graphic artwork. All of the network sites pool their players together, creating
a large combined player base with more game selection for their players.
If you log on to one of the network's sites, you will see the same set of games and the same
players as you would see on any other site.
While some networks still fit the traditional mold, Microgaming leads a growing trend
away from the "one big player pool" concept. Some individual network sites have enough of their own
players to create plenty of action in the most popular games.
By "ring-fencing" those games from the network, the site can offer games and promotions geared
specifically to their own players, while retaining a larger share of the earnings from those games.
The result is a divided player pool. On any given site, only a portion of the player base
is visible, making it difficult to track the network's total traffic. Until now.
Total Coverage
In cooperation with Microgaming, PokerScout now offers a complete view of the Microgaming
Network. All of the network's games, whether shared or ring-fenced, are captured in this
revolutionary new tracking system.
The Breakdown
What do the numbers mean in our Microgaming traffic report?
Microgaming (Total) - This is the total number of players active on the Microgaming network
from any source. Both shared and private games are captured in this player count. This number is
the sum of the individual player counts below.
Microgaming Poker Network - This is the main body of poker players on the network. Only a few
Microgaming sites have their own private games. The rest of the sites combine their
players into the Microgaming Poker Network player pool. This is the player count that PokerScout
has been tracking for years.
Unibet/Ladbrokes exclusive - Two of the largest sites on the network, Unibet and Ladbrokes,
exclusively offer private games of no limit Texas Hold'em at limits of EUR 2/4 and below.
Those private games are shared between the two sites. The number of players in the private
games is captured in this player count.*
For all other
game types and limits (no limit hold'em above 2/4 and all other games),
Unibet and Ladbrokes share games with the Microgaming Poker Network.
The only exception to this is the Ladbrokes exclusive games mentioned below.
Ladbrokes exclusive - In addition to the private games it shares with Unibet, Ladbrokes
has private games of no limit Texas Hold'em at limits of USD 2/4 and below.
Those players are captured here.* For all other
game types and limits, Ladbrokes shares games with the Microgaming Poker Network.
PokerTime exclusive - PokerTime offers a unique mix of Microgaming Poker Network games and its own private games.
The private games are captured here.*
*This player count only includes private games. It does not include
the shared network games that are also visible in the site's lobby.
