Pro Golfers To Compete in ‘Chipping All-In’ Charity Online Poker Tournament

Jimmy Walker, Michelle Wie, John Daly, and many more professional golfers will compete in a live online Texas Hold’em tournament this week. The Chipping All-In charity poker tournament will take place on Thursday, April 16 at noon PST (3 pm eastern, 2 pm central).

MGM Resorts International and the World Poker Tour are presenting Chipping All-In. The online poker tournament will feature an interactive broadcast on Twitch and YouTube. Audience members can make real-time donations at www.mgmresorts.com/ChippingAllin.

All Nevada casinos were asked to close for one month in March to slow the spread of coronavirus. Gov. Steve Sisolak extended the closure of Nevada casinos until the end of April.

Chipping All-In

Chipping All-In will divide the golfers among multiple tables. The top finishers from each table will advance to the final table. There will be live player audio throughout the tournament. This should create an immersive poker broadcast experience for viewers. Viewers will hear the players as if they’re sitting in the same room.

The Participating golfer will give personal shout outs to all viewers who donate money to charity. Additionally, viewers will be able to engage with the players during a live Q&A.

MGM Resorts is expecting a massive turnout for Chipping All-In. There will be nearly 40 participants in this online poker tournament. Highlights of the players scheduled to take part in the Chipping All-In charity poker tournament:

MGM Resorts’ Charitable Effort

MGM Resorts International is producing the Chipping All-In in an effort to raise money for MGM Resorts’ Employee Emergency Grant Fund. The charitable organization will support the company’s employees and community partners impacted by COVID-19.

Proceeds from Chipping All-In will go to the MGM Resorts Foundation’s Employee Emergency Grant Fund, which provides employees and their immediate families with short-term relief in making payments or to meet obligations during unexpected hardships and emergencies.

The fund is designed to assist those impacted by the coronavirus, including full-time employees, on-call employees and those facing layoff, separation or furlough.

Lance Evans, senior vice president of Sports and Sponsorships for MGM Resorts, said, “It is in our DNA to offer live entertainment and sports experiences to fans worldwide, even in the toughest of times. ‘Chipping All-In’ will feature some of the world’s top PGA and LPGA players as well as sports and media personalities playing in support of the Employee Emergency Grant Fund.”
