Triton Poker Brings High Stakes Action to Madrid in May; GGPoker Offers Online Satellites for Series

The high roller poker action returns in May with Triton Poker heading to Spain this time around. After the recent six-day stop in Cyprus, the Triton Series Madrid runs May 13-25 at Casino Gran Via.

The company is dubbing the 2022, Season 2 series with the tagline, “Where High Stakes Dreams Are Dealt.” The festival features 13 events with buy-ins ranging from €20,000 to € 150,000.

Many of the biggest high rollers in poker should be taking part. All the action once again will be filmed for viewing on the Triton YouTube and other social media channels.

“We look forward to showcasing the thrills and excitement that our tournaments have to offer as we continue to give full coverage of our highly anticipated season two kickoff to our growing audiences across multiple platforms,” Triton Series CEO Andy Wong said in a news release.

“As we kick off our first stop with the introduction of the coveted Triton Player of the Year, the new season promises some added excitement and unique twists.”

Highlights from Triton Madrid

Players heading to Madrid will find a distinctly European experience. A city full of contrasting styles, beautiful architecture, and immersive heritage hosts the series. Casino Gran Via is housed in a palace in the heart of Madrid and offers a unique setting for Triton.

Players will find a full slate of events with tournaments featuring Short Deck, No Limit Hold’em, and Pot Limit Omaha. A €20,000 NLHE kicks off the action on May 13.

Even bigger buy-ins start on May 17 with a €50,000 NLHE followed by a €75,000 NLHE event a day later. The three-day main event carries a €100,000 buy-in and runs from May 20-22.

Along with the high-stakes action, the Madrid stop is a part of the Triton Player of the Year race. That promotion runs throughout all four stops this season with an extra $200,000 up for grabs. The POY also grabs a special trophy for the accomplishment. Here’s a look at the complete series.

GGPoker part of the festivities, even more extras planned for players

Once again, GGPoker will serve as title sponsor of the Madrid series. Triton and the company continue to collaborate on live events after announcing a deal in March.

With the Madrid stop, that partnership is now coming to fruition. The site offers exclusive online satellites for the series, allowing average players a shot at these huge Triton buy-in events.

Also in Madrid, high-end jewelry manufacturer Jacob & Co debuts as the tour’s official timekeeper. This is the company’s first foray into the world of poker.

For Triton winners, the brand is developing a limited-edition collaborative timepiece with a design that encompasses the poker world.

“This achievement is a significant step forward for Triton Series in its mission to continually innovate live poker events, offering exclusive and always-thrilling live poker entertainment to players and fans at these exotic locations,” the company notes in a news release of the partnership.

Phil Ivey’s return to live poker highlighted the Cyprus series. He scored the title in a $75,000 Short Deck event for $1.2 million.

In Madrid, poker fans hoping to check out the action can expect more than 10 hours of live daily coverage. That spans across 13 days on Triton’s official media channels.

“The success and reach in Cyprus recently showed us that the quality of our content is a testament to our commitment in continuing to grow our Triton community,” Triton head of business development Chng Zhen Wei said. “We appreciate the ongoing support of our partners and fans in expanding the Triton Series.”
