WSOP Online: Four New Champions Crowned, Mystery Bounty Delivers on $10 Million Guarantee

After another week of action at GGPoker, the World Series of Poker Online crowned four more champions with more action ahead this weekend. The $1 million Mystery Bounty event also continues to build excitement this week with entries now topping 50,000.

The series offers international players 33 bracelet events running though Sept. 27 at GG. The series then moves to WSOP.com from Sept. 10 – Oct. 18 for players in legalized US markets. Here’s a quick look at the action over the last week.

Event 4: $1,050 Bounty Deepstack

This event offered another larger buy-in and saw 986 entries for a $986,000 prize pool. Italy’s Jacopo Olivieri Achille came out on top for his first bracelet and $39,862 in prize money. This was his sixth cash of the series.

Brazilian players scored well in the tournament with Carlos Henrique Ferreira Silva finishing runner-up for $39,763. His countryman Alexandre Mantovani took third for $31,609.

Event 5: $315 Six-Handed Bounty

This tournament brought back the more bargain-priced bracelet action. France’s Jon Garde found the winner’s circle for $28,356. This was his eight cash of the series and first bracelet.

China’s Weichao Xhang finished runner-up for $28,286 with American Joshua Hoesel finishing third for $20,684. The tournament received 2,312 entries for a $693,600 prize pool.

Event6: $800 Monster Stack

Players tend to appreciate getting more chips and received plenty in the Monster Stack. A monstrous field of 1,797 entries produced a $1.4 million prize pool.

Jonas Lauck found the top spot for $173,224. The German player has more than $1.9 million in live tournament winnings and now a huge online accomplishment as well.

Event 8: $5,000 Six-Handed NLH Championship

This offered a chance to take down a nice championship event and score a big payday in the process. The tournament saw Daniele Sesta rise to the top for $400,213 and his first WSOP bracelet.

The tournament attracted 430 entries for a $2 million prize pool.

Mystery Bounty tops guarantee

Starting flights and satellites continued earlier this week for Event 7: Million Dollar Mystery Bounty. The event features a $10 million guaranteed prize pool.

As part of the mystery bounty portion of the tournament, one lucky player will snag a nice $1 million prize for simply knocking out another player. As of Friday the event had met the guarantee with 51,003 entries so far with a $10.2 million prize pool. The final table was set to be streamed on Saturday at GGPoker.TV.

Looking ahead

Plenty of action remains in the coming weeks. Looking to the weekend beyond the Mystery Bounty, players will see another huge event on Saturday. The $10,000 Heads Up NLHE Championship should bring in plenty of high rollers looking for a nice title. The tournament is capped at 128 players.

Also on Saturday, the $400 Double Stack Bounty and $10,000 Super MILLION$ High Roller also get started. Monday also brings starting flights for another popular event – the $1,500 Millionaire Maker. The tournament once again guarantees $1 million for the winner as seen in the live WSOP each summer. Here’s a look at the complete WSOP Online schedule.
