Triton Poker may be entering a new stage as the high roller series continues seeing its partnership with GGPoker grow. The company announced a deal with GG in March and that’s led to more Triton opportunities for online poker players around the world.
The Super High Roller Series Cyprus is only days away, running Sept. 5-19 with 13 high roller events on tap. With GG now part of the equation, look for several online players to rub elbows with some of the biggest names in the game.
“This partnership has great synergy between the titans of online and offline poker, with the experience of both GGPoker and Triton, we share a common goal of growing the global poker fanbase,” Triton CEO Andy Wong told PokerScout.
Wong also spoke about the company’s efforts at growing the Triton Poker Plus mobile app. The multimedia offers gives players the complete inside scoop on the world’s biggest high roller series.
Expanding Triton online opportunities
For poker fans, Triton has become known for two big major bullet points: huge buy-ins and payouts; and slick production value. Those efforts look to continue and the deal with GG now offers average Joe players a chance to be part of that.
It’s now possible for online poker players of all levels to have a chance to play on such a major stage with massive price points they might not otherwise be able to achieve. This puts the company on par with other major live series offering online qualifiers. These are already underway for the upcoming Triton Super High Roller Series Cyprus.
“We are definitely looking to expand the online qualifiers for the rest of the calendar to introduce new players to play at Triton events,” Wong says. “The online qualifiers are open to anyone who can play on GGPoker, and it gives an exciting opportunity to anyone to be a part of this.
“The online qualifiers will hopefully increase the diversity of players, including recreational players, who show up at Triton tournaments. As part of the Triton DNA, even with the higher-level tournaments such as the Triton Million, we always encourage a good mix of professional players playing against recreational players.”
Wong wouldn’t comment on possible Triton online events, but perhaps that may be in the works at some point. Online players will have to wait and see.
Either way, seeing some recreational players as part of the mix seems enticing for more poker operators. Will an online qualifier rise up and find a nice score in North Cyprus? This adds another fun possibility for those checking out the action.
Triton Poker growing app capabilities
Along with the GGPoker partnership, Triton is also working to ramp up the company’s mobile app. Triton is already known for offering nice streaming production via its YouTube channel. The company has also found some success syndicating Triton coverage on television in recent years.
The Triton Poker Plus app also gives poker fans easy access to everything Triton. Users will find a range of comprehensive player and tournament data as well as the opportunity to view more than 500 hours of event coverage. Poker fans and players will also find:
- live chip counts
- seating charts
- payouts
- live tournament details
- schedules
- player of the year rankings
“Triton Poker Plus brings an added dimension to how fans can live stream their favorite players at our events,” Wong says. “Enhanced poker entertainment right at your fingertips with full live data on all tournaments and recent hand histories of fan-favorite players – paving a better way to watch poker.”
Coin Rivet, Luxon Pay partnerships include tournaments, Espen Jorstad cash game
Along with the GG partnership, Coin Rivet also has become a Triton partner. The company is running the Coin Rivet Invitational from Sept. 10-12 in conjunction with the Super High Roller Series Cyprus.
The event features a $200,000 buy-in and a unique mix of pros and well-heeled business professionals. The player cap on the event was recently increased from 64 to 80.
When play kicks off, pros and businessmen are separated on the first day of the tournament. The fields are then merged on Day 2. World Series of Poker Main Event champion Espen Jorstad was also hosting a live cash game as part of the Mediterranean Poker Party, which precedes the Triton series.
All major final tables are streamed on the Luxon Pay YouTube channel with commentary from Henry Kilbane and James Dempsey.
