The Asian Poker Tour (APT) has announced a disappointing decision for many poker players in the region. The upcoming APT Manila series, scheduled to be held from May 30th through June 8th, has been cancelled with no make-up dates scheduled as of now.
There were no reasons provided in the official cancellation announcement from the APT.
This is a surprising development, considering the success of APT Manila earlier this year. The February series broke attendance records and held innovative daily women’s events.

There was a lot of positive momentum for poker in the Philippines and for the entire region that the APT was doing a good job of tapping into. Understandably, this announcement has led to some shock around the Asian poker world and left many disappointed.
Luckily the announcement came in enough time for players to make alternative plans and not test their poker etiquette if it had been cancelled closer to the dates.
Upcoming APT Tournaments
Despite this cancellation, the APT plans to march on throughout the rest of the 2025 season with the next stop coming April 25th to May 4th with APT Taipei. Set in Taipei, Taiwan, this series will be looking to capitalize on the cancellation of APT Manila.
The rest of the APT 2025 season will be centered around South Korea as APT Incheon is scheduled for August 1st to August 10th, with APT Jeju set for September 26th to October 5th.
The season will head back to Taipei to conclude the 2025 season from November 14th to November 30th for the “Grand Finale”.
Poker in Asia in general continues to grow and the APT’s success has proven that point. Places with quality online poker like Malaysia and Singapore among others, have contributed to the growth of the APT.
Hopefully this cancellation is just a bump in the road and not a sign of any larger issues with the APT at large as it is important for the game of poker to have a presence in as many parts of the world as possible.
