Partypoker Boosts Super Daily Legends With Bigger Guarantees; North Cyprus MILLIONS Winners

There's a lot going on for online poker players at partypoker and here's a look at some events planned for the coming weeks.

The Daily Legends tournaments have expanded at partypoker. The site announced this week that sister versions of the popular Sunday games will now run on weekdays as well.

The plans now give even more chances for players to win large cash payouts. Mini and micro versions of all tournaments will also run alongside the daily events as well. Players of all bankrolls have an opportunity to win big.

What are partypoker Super Daily Legends?

The Daily Legends are designed to give players of all bankrolls an equal chance at winning prizes. The most successful players can win tournament tickets through the Legend of the Week leaderboard.

Partypoker is now adding one Super Daily Legends tournament each night of the week from Monday to Thursday. Here’s a look at the new weekly schedule:

  • Monday – Super $109 with a $50,000 guarantee
  • Tuesday – Super $215 with a $75,000 guarantee
  • Wednesday – Super $320 with a $100,000 guarantee
  • Thursday – Super $530 with a $100,000 guarantee

Weekend events also see increases

In addition to the introduction of Super Daily Legends on weekdays, some Sunday tournaments are also seeing guarantees boosted.

The $1,050 Grand goes from $200,000 to $250,000. The $109 Weekender sees the guarantee raised from $100,000 to $125,000. Flights for both tournaments also run throughout the week.

“I’m really looking forward to getting involved in these tournaments,” Team partypoker’s Patrick Leonard said in a news release. “Sunday is my favorite day of the week, so it’s great to see some of these Sunday-style guarantees being introduced during the week.”

Here’s a complete schedule of the Daily Legends events.

PokerStars Bounty Builder Series Launches Sunday; EPT Prague Live Festival Announced

The Bounty Builder Series returns to PokerStars Oct. 3-18 with 208 tournaments and more than $30 million guaranteed.

The Bounty Builder Series returns to PokerStars this weekend. Players will find 208 tournaments running Oct. 3-18 with more than $30 million guaranteed.

Players will also find two Main Events running on Oct. 17. The  $55 high event guarantees $1 million and the $530 version guarantees $2.5 million. Buy-ins for the series range from $5.50 to $1,100, providing something for every bankroll.

What to expect from the Bounty Builder Series

All tournaments are fittingly using a knockout format, where all players have a bounty on their heads. Eliminate an opponent, and the winner picks up that player’s bounty.

Most tournaments are No Limit Hold’em, but the series also includes:

  • Pot Limit Omaha
  • HORSE
  • Pot Limit Omaha Hi/Lo 8 or Better
  • 6+ Hold’em (Short Deck)
  • Eight-Game Mix
  • No Limit Omaha Hi/Lo 8 or Better
  • Five-Card Pot Limit Omaha

Beyond the Main Events, several other tournaments also stand out on the schedule. A $55 Sunday Kickoff Special Edition starts the series on Oct. 3 with $125,000 guaranteed.

Players will also find designated “Daily Highlight” tournaments throughout the series. These events feature three entry levels – low, medium, and high. The Daily Highlights also come with the biggest guarantees of the series.

For example, on Oct. 11 players will find a Monday Deepstack as the Daily Highlight. The $11 version guarantees $80,000 with the $109 and $530 versions guaranteeing $250,000 in each event.

Here’s a look at the complete series.

Live poker continues returning to EPT

Along with announcing the new Bounty Builder Series, PokerStars also announced another stop for the European Poker Tour (EPT) on Thursday. EPT Prague returns to the Czech Republic from Dec. 8-19  at the Hilton Hotel Prague.

The series had run each year from 2007-19 until the COVID pandemic led to its cancellation in 2020. Players can expect a packed schedule of events including three highlights that have already been released:

  • €1,100 EPT National – Dec. 9-13
  • €5,300 Main Event – Dec. 13-19
  • €10,300 High Roller – Dec. 17-19

Players can expect safety precautions in place to minimize COVID concerns.

“We’re so excited to welcome our community back to our live poker felt with one of our most famous and well-loved poker tours,” PokerStars managing director Severin Rasset said in a news release.

“It’s been such a long time coming and we’ve been working tirelessly and monitoring the situation carefully so that no stone is unturned for a safe return to live events and a great experience for our players.”

Online satellites for the series begin Oct. 3 starting at just €1.10. Stars will award five Main Event packages worth €7,200 each each week until the start of the event.

Each package includes eight nights’ hotel stay, travel, and tournament buy-in. Satellites will also start in France and Spain on Oct. 24.

The PokerStars European Poker Tour will again head to Sochi, Russia, at Casino Sochi in March, the site announced this week.

Announcement adds to live EPT schedule

The Prague announcement comes on the heels of PokerStars running the EPT Sochi from Oct. 2-11. That festival features:

  • $1,827 (₽133,000) Main Event – Oct. 7-11
  • $3,540 (₽257,600) High Roller – Oct. 10-11.

PokerStars also announced this week that the tour is already locked in for a return to Sochi from March 18-27.

A $2,400 (₽175,000) Main Event highlights the series from March 22-27. A $5,094 (₽371,000) High Roller is also planned as part of the festivities.

Live poker seems to be on the uptick with the World Series of Poker returning this week. The World Poker Tour has also run several tournaments and the Brazilian Series of Poker Millions is also back Nov. 24 – Dec. 5.

PokerStars European Poker Tour Returning to Sochi In March; Brazilian Event Also Coming

The PokerStars European Poker Tour will again head to Sochi, Russia, at Casino Sochi in March, the site announced this week.

Fresh off other recent announcements regarding the return of live poker, PokerStars added another event to the schedule this week. The site’s European Poker Tour will again head to Sochi, Russia, at Casino Sochi in March for another series.

The festival runs from March 18-27 with a $2,400 (₽175,000) Main Event running March 22-27. The announcement comes as more live events return, including the World Series of Poker and Brazilian Series of Poker. The World Poker Tour has also run several events in the US this year.

Other highlights from the series in Russia

Not too many details on the series are available yet, but a full  schedule should be released as events get closer.

However, there are a couple more tournaments that have been announced. The $1,057 (₽77,000) EPT National event runs March 18-27.

Also, players looking for bigger action will find a $5,094 (₽371,000) High Roller. PokerStars Live will release dates and information on that event later.

Another EPT Sochi event kicks off this week as well with a festival running Oct. 2-11. Here’s a look at the highlights of the series:

  • $1,827 (133,000) Main Event – Oct. 7-11
  • $3,540 (257,600) High Roller – Oct. 10-11

A look back at the EPT Sochi 2021

The EPT’s return to Sochi began in March of this year. Russia’s Artur Martirosyan, known as “mararthur1” online, took down the Main Event for $325,000 and a spade trophy.

Viktor Kudinov won the High Roller for $98,000 after a heads up deal. Players should look for online qualifiers as the 2022 EPT Sochi gets closer.

Are more EPT events ahead?

Casino Sochi has hosted EPT events since 2017. The property promises safety measures in place to protect players and staff during the era of COVID.

Russia remains the only EPT stop announced so far. Players responded on Twitter about any possibility of another announcement regarding other venues in the future.

A look at the Casino Sochi. (photo courtesy PokerStars)

However, popular stops such as Barcelona, Prague, London, and Monte Carlo aren’t part of the plans as of now.

Could that change soon? That’s not known, but Stars recently announced the return of the Brazilian Series of Poker Millions as well. That series runs Nov. 24 to Dec. 5 at the WTC Sheraton Golden Hall in São Paulo with $2.8 million guaranteed.

PSPC getting closer?

On the horizon, PokerStars has promised another version of the PokerStars Players Championship (PSPC). The next event was set for Barcelona after the record-setting 2020 event in the Bahamas

However the event was cancelled because of COVID. Could the PSPC return in 2022? No word yet, but with more live events returning it seems like there is at least a possibility.

The company continues to promote the popular Platinum Passes that reward players with:

  • €22,500 buy-in
  • Six nights’ hotel accommodation in a five-star hotel
  • Airport transfers
  • PSPC merchandise
  • €1,250 in spending money
  • Exclusive Platinum Pass winner events during the event

A pass is worth about €30,000, but one hasn’t been awarded in 18 months. That changes on Oct. 7 when the Cardplayer Lifestyle website hosts the Mixed Games Festival at the Westgate Casino in Las Vegas

A $200 HORSE tournament caps the series with a Platinum Pass on the line for the winner. This puts the event right in the international poker spotlight with one player taking home quite a prize.

The festival becomes the first BSOP Millions since 2019. The series has been held online during the pandemic, but now heads back to the live tables at the WTC Sheraton Golden Hall in São Paulo.

What to expect from PokerStars BSOP

Players will find a packed schedule when the action gets going in November. PokerStars Live plans 50 tournaments across 12 days with R$15 million ($2.8 million) guaranteed.

The site is also promising daily freerolls for a Main Event Mega Satellite, which runs on Nov. 2. The mega will award 15 complete tournament packages.

COVID requirements

With the return of  live poker, the series features several measures to ensure player safety.

“The health and safety of staff and players is the number one priority for PokerStars.net and the BSOP,” the company noted in a news release, “and strict guidelines have been put in place which adhere to local regulations and guidance.”

Some of these requirements for players and staff include:

BSOP returns as Brazilians score big

The BSOP is now in its 12th season and more dates may be announced soon as well. The series played out events the last two years online at PokerStars.

In 2020, Canada’s Stevan “random_chu” Chew took down the Main Event for $91,890. Russia’sAlister07” then won the championship this year for $77,556.

It’s been a nice few months for Brazilian players. Some of the country’s players have really fared well over the last few months.

In the recent PokerStars World Championship of Online Poker (WCOOP), Brazilians won 57 events. That was the most by any country.

Partypoker Promotion Winners Cash In; Player Turns Penny Into $13K, Another Snags F1 Package

The partypoker dream of turning a micro buy-in into a big score came true recently in the $5,300 WPT World Online Championships Main Event. Thousands of players took part in centroll satellites to earn a seat in the championship event.

Nikolay Gorbunov was one of those and scored big after advancing through each qualifying level. He turned a single penny into a Main Event seat and then went on to finish 99th for $13,027.

“Partypoker’s centrolls are a great way to play poker as a beginner,” he told the partypoker blog. “I play them all the time, in addition to other freerolls and satellites from $0.55. I’ve played them for about two years as a way to try and build my bankroll.”

Earning a partypoker WPT seat for a single cent

Nikolay Gorbunov

Earning a WPT entry for a penny certainly isn’t easy, but Gorbunov shows that it is possible. A player must advance through several qualifying levels.

However, things moved quickly for Gorbunov. His entire run took place in a single day and he was right in the Main Event. The quick turnaround removed some of the stress of being in such a major event however.

“The first day was great in terms of emotions,” he says. “I stacked Benjamin Rolle with Aces in the blinds – he caught top pair on the flop. Day 1A saw my stack become very short because I simply wanted to get into the prizes, and I played very tight because the pressure to cash was great.”

Gorbunov advanced to Day 2, but his run came to an end. Down to 11 big blinds, he moved all in with Ace-Jack but was called by a player with a dominating Ace-King. While disappointed to bow out, Gorbunov was thrilled with the result.

“I have already bought myself a car from the prize money, although it is rather inexpensive and not new,” he says. “I will probably play slightly higher stakes, increasing my average buy-in to $5.”

Formula 1 superfan wins massive racing package for Italian Grand Prix

Another player also recently scored in a unique partypoker promotion. Parent company Entain announced a sponsorship deal with Formula 1’s McLaren Racing earlier this year.

Partypoker F1 winner Ross Cartright and fiancee Jordan at the track.

That has meant some opportunities for the company’s online poker players to win some exclusive trackside prizes. Ross Cartwright was one of the first winners when his name was drawn. He scored $5,000 and a VIP trip for two to the famous Italian Grand Prix at Monza.

Cartwright loves F1 and is a McLaren fan as well, making him a great fit for the prize. He and his fiancee Jordan head to England’s Silverstone race track every year, camping throughout the week and watching the British Grand Prix.

“I started watching F1 in the late ‘80s,” he said. “My dad used to watch the races on Sunday, and he’d sometimes let me get up early to watch the flyaway races in Japan and Australia.

“I was instantly hooked by the Ayrton Senna and Alain Prost battles. Then I was a big follower of Nigel Mansell and then Damon Hill. I used to love it when the underdog teams won the race, such as Jordan at Spa.”

The pair were treated to numerous special events, excellent meals, and great seats for the race. They also met racing legends and the McLaren team including CEO Zak Brown.

“Overall, it was the dream experience,” Cartwright said. “Due to COVID, I didn’t expect to be able to be so close to the drivers or actually meet them.

“In the end, we did so much more. Hats off to McLaren, who really do look after their fans, especially us. We experienced and saw so much that it was hard to keep up at times. It was definitely a dream come true.”

Grand Prix underway at partypoker

The racing vibes continue this month at partypoker. The Grand Prix KO Series runs Sept. 19 – Oct. 4 with 16 progressive knockout events.

Buy-ins for the series range from $5.50 to $530. Players will find a two-day $109 Main Event beginning on Sept. 26. That event comes with a $500,000 guarantee and partypoker once again is offering centroll qualifiers.

Perhaps another player will make a deep run as Gorbunov did in the WPT World Online Championships. For a complete look at the Grand Prix, click here.

BLAST Brings Seven-Figure Bonanza At 888poker; $1M Big Shot Starting Flights Continue

A small buy-in paid off in a big way recently for three lucky Italian players at 888poker, landing a €1 million jackpot prize pool.

A small buy-in paid off in a big way recently for three lucky Italian players at 888poker. The trio sat down for one of the site’s €1 BLAST Sit & Go tournaments and quickly found themselves playing for a jackpot prize pool of €1 million.

AM,” a 54-year-old woman from the town of Mentana, ultimately walked away as the tournament’s big winner. She scored €700,000 for coming out on top and was shocked at her good fortune.

“When I realized that the €1 million jackpot had been hit,” she said in a news release, “I started screaming so much that my son got scared. I couldn’t believe it!”

Hitting it big at 888poker

While AM was the event’s big winner, the other woman and man at the table also fared well. Unlike traditional BLAST events, second- and third-place finishers also score a nice prize. Here are the payouts for all three players:

  • 1st – ”ilaria200651” (aka AM), €700,000
  • 2nd – ”ele76m”, €200,000
  • 3rd – ”Adria74”, €100,000

The sudden windfall was nice, but AM has no plans of slowing down or making any major life changes.

No doubt the six-figure cash can come in handy however. She plans on using some to help her family.

“We are a family of workers, and we will continue to work,” she said. “But, at least, now we can realize our dreams. We have four children – the eldest is 35, the youngest 15.

“So, it’s important for us to give them everything they need – to send the youngest to a good university and to help the eldest with the house loan. And we can have a bigger house now, too.”

Second-place finisher, 44-year-old EM from the town of Civita Castellana in Viterbo, didn’t initially see the amount she was playing for.

“At the beginning, I didn’t realize it,” she says.

After she noticed the funds in her account however, EM understood how large of a BLAST she had actually been playing. She already has some plans for the money.

“Incredible!” she says of the win. “I will use it to renovate my house.”

The remaining €100,000 went to AC, a player from Sondrio. He was certainly pleased with his results as well.

How do BLAST Sit & Go tournaments work?

Players looking to get in a BLAST Jackpot Sit & Go will find three-handed tournaments with a randomly-set prize pool. Each winner-take-all game kicks off with a drawing to determine the prize pool.

The prize is most often double a player’s buy-in. However, the amount can also be several times the buy-in and even more, as these three lucky players found out.

Once the prize pool is determined, players receive a starting stack of 1,500 chips. The BLAST blind structure and prize pool distribution are determined according to a multiplier.

Participants then play as in a normal tournament. However, once a timer runs out, all three players are all in every hand until only one is left standing.

$1 million Big Shot qualifiers continue

Other 888poker players have a shot at a nice payday in September as well. The site is currently running a special version of the site’s popular Sunday Big Shot tournament.

The event normally features a $109 buy-in with a $150,000 guaranteed prize pool. Throughout September, however, 888 is running numerous starting flights culminating with the Big Shot Special Edition on Sept. 27 with a $1 million guarantee.

888poker's special multi-flight $1 million Big Shot Special Edition promises something massive throughout September.

Players advancing past a starting flight then have an opportunity to play for a share of the massive prize pool. 888 is also offering numerous opportunities to play in the event at a bargain price. That includes:

  • Day 1 Flight Freerolls
  • 24/7 Day 1 satellites
  • Winner Spinner contests awarding free Day 1 tickets
  • Gift drops including free tournament seats

Players can also score tournament tickets via social media contests, 888pokerTV and StreamTeam activities, and ambassador special events. The tournament is the biggest 888 event so far this year.
