Partypoker Waves Green Flag on Contests Awarding VIP Formula 1 Experiences

PokerStars announced the launch of Spin & Go Races on Tuesday, a new game with $105,000 in guaranteed prizes awarded each week.

After announcing a Formula 1 partnership in May, partypoker is now offering a chance for players to get in the action. The site is currently running two contests for players to win VIP experiences with McLaren Racing.

Party’s parent company, Entain, serves as a sponsor and that partnership is now benefitting players.

“I love to see this partnership, with partypoker and McLaren giving players the opportunity to win an incredible F1 experience,” Team partypoker’s Carl Froch said in a news release.

“It’s easy to earn McLaren Miles and be in with a shot at the prize draw, and there are some great cash prizes in the leaderboard too. Good luck to all players.”

Partypoker French Grand Prix package up for grabs

The first contest runs Aug. 23 to Sept. 19. Players have the opportunity to win a VIP F1 experience at next year’s French Grand Prix.

The McLaren F1 Card Rush offers the chance to win prizes every day. Players can unlock up to five click cards per day by playing regular cash and fastforward games.

Players earn 0.1 points for every $0.10 in rake they generate. Earning only 0.4 points gives players their first daily click card.

Then head to the “promotions” section to see what’s behind the click card. Cash prizes range from $0.50 to $1,000. McLaren Miles can also be awarded in each click card.

Those receiving McLaren Miles receive one prize drawing ticket. The ultimate winner earns a prize package to the F1 Emirates Grand Prix De France in 2022. The package includes:

  • two VIP hospitality tickets
  • $5,000 for travel, accommodation and expenses

The more tickets a player wins, the better the chance of scoring the F1 experience. The drawing will be broadcast on partypoker’s Instagram live feed after the promotion period finishes.

The date of the drawing hasn’t been released yet, but should be available soon on partypoker’s social media channels. There will also be extra leaderboard cash prizes allowing players to win a McLaren Mile.

As someone accumulates more McLaren Miles, that player also climbs the standings. The leaderboard pays out a top cash prize of $1,000.

There are many opportunities to win cash prizes from the leaderboard. The top 1,000 finishers take home some cash.

Win a trip to the Italian Grand Prix

Partypoker is also offering players a chance to win even more. The site is giving players an opportunity to score a full McLaren F1 experience at this year’s Italian Grand Prix.

As part of the contest, players listen to a short audio clip from McLaren driver Daniel Ricciardo. Contestants then must determine which track he’s describing in the clip. Here’s a look at what players can win:

  • 1st – A full McLaren racing experience at Italy’s Monza Grand Prix for one lucky winner and a friend. The prize includes a meet and greet with Ricciardo and $5,000 in spending money.
  • 2nd – Four winners score a pair of grandstand tickets at the Monza Grand Prix.
  • 3rd – Prize winners take home an official McLaren cap.

Partypoker is making big efforts to make the most of the McLaren partnership. Look for more cross-branding and promotions in the future.

PokerStars Adds German Pro Benjamin Rolle, Deal With ‘Raise Your Edge’ Training Site

PokerStars announced the signing of German poker pro Benjamin “BenCB” Rolle to its roster of poker ambassadors on Friday.

Fresh off adding Argentinian freestyle rapper Papo MC, PokerStars announced another signing on Friday. German poker pro Benjamin “BenCB” Rolle now joins the site’s roster of poker ambassadors and will also be a key poker training addition.

Rolle is no stranger to success on the site and holds WCOOP and SCOOP titles. Beyond his skills at the tables, he’s also the founder of the Raise Your Edge training site. He now adds a PokerStars sponsorship deal to his poker resumé as well.

“I’m thrilled to be working alongside PokerStars to continue to find ways to positively impact the future of online poker,” Rolle said in a news release. “Working together with PokerStars, I’ll be able to work on new content and become even more creative when trying to introduce more players to the game.

“I am very excited and grateful for this opportunity. I see it as a great responsibility to represent PokerStars, to remain a voice of the community, and act as a bridge between them and the platform.”

From successful poker player to well-known poker coach to PokerStars ambassador

Rolle has seen many online poker successes. He won the 2014 SCOOP (Spring Championship of Online Poker) main event for more than $250,000. In 2016, he added a WCOOP (World Championship of Online Poker) Super High Roller title for more than $1.2 million.

At the Sit & Go tables, Rolle was among the top 10 in 2013 and 2014, according to SharkScope. He also placed first in 2015 in the rankings.

Since 2019, Rolle has served poker players through his coaching and streaming on his Twitch channel. As part of his new role with PokerStars, he’ll be streaming his action on the site regularly.

“Ben is arguably one of the world’s top multi-table tournament players and has been crushing high stakes for many years,” PokerStars associate director of communities and partnerships Scott Goodall said.

“On top of that, he and his amazing team at Raise Your Edge have built up and supported a huge community through education, engagement, and a passion to not only play but to learn the game that we all love in a safe environment.”

Raise Your Edge also part of the deal

The signing aligns with PokerStars’ new partnership with Raise Your Edge. The deal with the coaching site goes live next month.

In recent years, more online poker platforms are seeing the benefits of teaming up with poker strategy platforms. Several other operators also have deals in place.

Rolle, Raise Your Edge, and PokerStars will team up to help current and new players improve their game through:

  • exclusive content
  • live training
  • courses to improve poker strategy

PokerStars will reveal more details about the Raise Your Edge partnership in the coming weeks.

“Working with Ben and Raise Your Edge, PokerStars will be able to provide top standard content and gain valuable feedback and input from Ben, the RYE community, as well as our existing ambassadors and partners, to ensure we can continuously improve and provide the best experience for all our players and communities,” Goodall added.

“This partnership is something we are all very excited about here at PokerStars.”

888poker Launches ‘Road to Vegas’ Promotion; BLAST Leaderboards Payouts Doubled

For the eighth straight year, 888poker has launched the “Road to Vegas” promotion, offering players a chance to win a $13,000 poker package.

For the eighth straight year, 888poker has launched the “Road to Vegas” promotion. The site is offering players a chance to win a $13,000 package to play in Las Vegas this fall.

The World Series of Poker is certainly an option for winners, with 88 bracelet events running Sept. 30 to Nov. 23. Road to Vegas qualifiers are already underway at 888 for as little as $0.01.

What to expect from 888’s Road to Vegas

Players have plenty to compete for in the coming weeks with a few ways to get in the action. Users can play their way to the top via a series of qualifying satellite events.

Players can also buy in directly to the $1,050 qualifier to win a $13,000 package. The Vegas prize includes:

  • $10,000 tournament buy-in
  • $1,500 for hotel accommodations
  • $1,500 for travel and expenses
  • an 888poker Live kit

BLAST leaderboards get boosted

Beyond the Road to Vegas, 888 is also adding more punch to August’s BLAST leaderboards. Through Aug. 29, the daily leaderboard prizes are doubled from $5,000 to $10,000.

Participating players also earn entries into a $50,000 BLAST ticket raffle. Players earn an entry  by simply competing in leaderboard events for five days.

BLAST events are turbo tournaments featuring four-handed tables. Players compete to be the last player standing.

However, there’s an extra twist. When a timer runs down to zero, players are all in each hand until a winner is determined.

Only the first 10 or 30 BLAST games of the day count toward a player’s leaderboard ranking. Players can choose to participate in one or both 10- and 30-game leaderboards.

Competitors can join in the leaderboards action by visiting the BLAST arena in the 888poker client lobby. Then simply click on “Leaderboards” to get started.

Competing players earn 2 points for first place and 1 point for second or third. Competitors can check their position on the live leaderboards throughout the week.

The 20th edition of PokerStars’ WCOOP concluded last Wednesday and produced the biggest version ever with $126.5 million paid out to players.

Less than two weeks remain until the World Championship of Online Poker (WCOOP) kicks off at PokerStars. The site released the official schedule for the series on Monday with 102 events set for Aug. 22 to Sept. 15.

PokerStars is celebrating the 20th edition of the series this year with more than $100 million guaranteed, the largest ever. WCOOP also promises $1 million up for grabs in promotional giveaways to add to the series.

GGPoker Announces $10 Million In Extra Giveaways During August World Series of Poker Online

The WSOP Online bracelet hunting wrapped up on Sunday at GGPoker with players from France and Canada winning the final two events.

The World Series of Poker Online is underway at GGPoker and the site is adding more value to the festival. GG recently launched the $10 million WSOP Season Giveaway, offering players even more value.

The promotion features a collection of exclusive events running throughout August and giving all players a shot at extra cash. This becomes the highest monthly giveaway total in the poker room’s history.

“There are over 10 million reasons to play at GGPoker this August,” GG head of public relations Paul Burke said in a news release. “Daily leaderboards, exclusive giveaways, and all of this while WSOP Online 2021 is underway and dozens of gold WSOP bracelets are being won – there’s truly a lot to celebrate this month.”

What can GGPoker players expect

A major part of the promotion is the new “GG x WSOP Special Edition $1 Million Gift Box.” This offers players a tournament leaderboard awarding $32,000 in daily prizes for up to 1,400 players.

Beyond that, GG has planned numerous other promotions as part of the series. Some of those range from All-In or Fold leaderboards to special events for new players. Here’s a look at some of what’s planned in in August:

  • All-In or Fold Daily $50,000 Leaderboard
  • Spin & Gold Daily $50,000 Leaderboard
  • GGCare ($1.5 million awarded)
  • Rush & Cash Daily $40,000 Leaderboard
  • GG x WSOP Daily $32,000 Tournament Leaderboard
  • Hold’em Daily $25,000 Leaderboard
  • Omaha Daily $25,000 Leaderboard
  • Honeymoon for Newcomers ($250,000 awarded in August)
  • Daily Freebie ($500,000 awarded in August)
  • Short Deck Daily $10,000 Leaderboard
  • Flip & Go Daily $10,000 Leaderboard
  • Battle Royale Daily $1,000 Leaderboard

A look at the WSOP Online

The WSOP Online offers international players 33 bracelet events as well as numerous other tournaments. The series runs through Sept. 12 and features more than $45 million guaranteed.

The new $10 million promotions add significantly to that as well.

“One of the reasons I love GGPoker is how they give back to their players,” GGPoker global ambassador Bertrand “ElkY” Grospellier said. “From the Honeymoon For Newcomers to Bubble Protection for Early Birds, and now the $10 million WSOP Season Giveaway, GGPoker gives every player at every level an opportunity to share in giveaways.”

GGPoker WSOP Online: Catena Media Poker Team Selects Players To Watch This Summer

The action heats up beginning Sunday in the World Series of Poker Online at GGPoker. Plenty of poker sharks will be out in force hoping to secure one of the 33 gold bracelets up for grabs.

Some of the game’s best and most recognized pros will be mixing it up online. The international version of the series promises some big prize pools and hefty payouts.

In the spirit of the series, the Catena Media poker team took a look at some players to watch and will update their progress throughout the series. Here are a few players to keep an eye out for.

Foxen is currently chasing the GPI Player of the Year spot for a third straight year. He’s had a successful summer so far and looks to grind GGPoker events all August. Foxen is currently one of the best players in the game without a bracelet.

Ali Imsirovic (Vancouver, Washington)

  • $50,000 PokerGO Cup #7 – 5th, $122,500 (July 2021)
  • $15,000 PokerGO Cup #4 – winner, $240,000 (July 2021)
  • $10,000 PokerGO Cup #2 – winner, $183,000 (July 2021)

Imsirovic is currently ranked number one in the world after a successful run in the PokerGO Cup. He’ll most likely try to stay on top of the mountain by playing as many WSOP Online events as possible.

Yuri Martins (Curitiba, Brazil)

  • $2,500 WSOP Mixed PLO Hi/Lo & 7-Card Hi/Lo – 1st, $213,750 (June 2019)
  • $400 WSOP GGPoker PLOSSUS – 1st,  $221,557 (July 2021)
  • $3,500 WPT Tampa – 10th, $61,325 (June 2021)

As one of the top online players in the world, Martins is expected to have another big run this summer. He captured bracelets in 2019 and 2020 and dominate mixed games alongside No Limit Hold’em as well.

Valerie Cross, content manager

Kristen Bicknell (Ontario, Canada)

  • Tournament earnings over $5.25 million, according to Hendon Mob
  • WSOP Online $2,500 6-Max – 1st, $356,000 (July 2020)

No sleeper here. Bicknell is a powerful force both live and online. She’s also had massive success in WSOP events, and this series should be no different.

A year ago in this very series, Bicknell binked her third bracelet in the $2,500 Six-Max event, outlasting a field of 892 for a $356,000 score. Look out for No. 4.

Niklas Astedt (Sweden)

  • Tournament earnings over $1.15 million
  • $1,050 WPT partypoker, 1st, $175,000 (May 2020)

This Swedish crusher is dedicated to the grind, cashing in dozens of GGPoker and partypoker events in recent months. In last year’s WSOP Online bracelet series, he finished second to Roberto Romanello in a 922-entry field in the $1,500 NLHE for $157,000. His close call will surely be a driving force of motivation for gold.

Ranno Sootla (Tallinn, Estonia)

  • Hendon Mob earnings over $630,000
  • WSOP NLHE Colossus – 1st, $597,000 (July 2020)

This young Estonian got his first taste of gold a year ago. The win came after finishing runner-up to Ryan Leng in the 2018 WSOP $1,500 Bounty for his first live six-figure score ($168,000).

It takes grit and perseverance to win an online event with a whopping 12,757 runners. That’s what Sootla did in last year’s series, so he should be up for the battle in the 2021 edition.

AJ Chabra (New Jersey, United States)

  • Hendon mob earnings over $1.35 million
  • WSOP $1,500 Limit Hold’em Championship – 1st, $77,000 (August 2020)

In December 2017, Chabra scored his first live WPT Main Event final table. He finished fifth in the $10,400 Five Diamond for $350,000.

His play and poise impressed, and he’s gone on to put up impressive results since, both live and online. His last win was in this very series in 2020, and I expect more strong results and maybe even another bracelet in 2021.

Sean Chaffin, PokerScout editor/site runner

David Peters (Ohio, United States)

  • WSOP Online $7,777 High Roller – 1st, $283,940 (July 2021)
  • PokerGO Cup (June 2021) – three wins, one runner-up, and the overall series champion

This American seems unstoppable lately and crushed the fields at the PokerGO Studio in June. He seems likely to be active at GGPoker in August as well.

Last year, he scored numerous cashes including taking down the $10,000 Heads-up Championship for $360,480. A fourth bracelet definitely seems a possibility soon.

Mikita Badziakouski (Belarus)

  • $28 million in tournament winnings
  • Runner-up finishes in Super High Roller Bowl Online and WSOP Online in 2020

This live poker crusher has found some nice runs online in recent months. He’s scored on some of the biggest poker stages in the world including: Triton, WSOP Europe, EPT, and more.

Badziakouski has come close to a bracelet several times, but just came up short (three runner-ups, one third, two fourths). Look for another big effort in August at GG.

Ole Schemion (Germany)

  • $16.3 million in tournament winnings
  • partypoker WPT Montreal Online –1st, $35,631(January 2021)

Schemion has posted some nice scores online in recent months. With numerous final tables over the last two years, more success seems likely in the WSOP Online. He should be battling for a bracelet this summer.

Michael Addamo (Australia)

  • WSOP Online $10,000 Heads-up – runner-up, $223,488 (August 2020)
  • $10,300 Super High Roller Bowl Online – 1st, $228,800

Addamo has had a huge couple of years online, which included a runner-up finish in 2020 in the $102,000 Super High Roller Bowl event for $1.2 million. He’s been consistent in major online events and that should continue.

WPT World Championships Returns To Partypoker With $5M Guarantee

The WPT World Online Championships return to partypoker Aug. 13 to Sept. 15 featuring a $3,200 Main Event with a $5 million guarantee.

The WPT World Online Championships are back again at partypoker in August and September, allowing players around the world to battle for a title. The series runs Aug. 13 to Sept. 15, highlighted by the $3,200 Main Event with a $5 million guarantee.

The festival offers players once again a chance at some online WPT glory.

“The WPT World Online Championships are back and I can’t wait to play,” Team partypoker’s Patrick Leonard said in a news release. “The WPT Main Event should be a great tournament with satellites running now.”

What to expect from the WPT partypoker action

The main event plays out over four days, with starting flights running on three consecutive Sundays beginning Aug. 29. Day 2 is set for Sept. 13 with the final two days on Sept. 14-15.

Partypoker is once again trying to get players of all bankrolls involved. Players can qualify for just a penny, with centrolls already running and satellite finals held every Sunday.

The $0.01 satellites award at least 15 tickets to the $4.40 buy-in Phase 1. Players can then advance to a $22 buy-in Phase 2.

That’s then followed by the $109 Phase 3. This leads into the weekly final, where 20 Main Event Day 1A tickets will be awarded.

In 2020, the United Kingdom’s Phil Mighall became the inaugural main event champion. He topped a field of 1,011 players to win $1.6 million.

Partypoker has announced one more event so far as part of the series. The $33 WPT Pro Hunt features a $30,000 guarantee and a progressive knockout format.

Team partypoker pros and other high-profile players will be out in force during the event. The tournament also comes with a charity angle, with 20% of the prize pool being donated.

Some of those competing include Team partypoker’s Jaime Staples, Courtney Gee, Patrick Leonard, Joao Simao, Joni Jouhkimainen, and Mikita Bodyakovskiy.

Knocking out a pro will also bring some bonus prizes for players, including $109 tickets to main event satellite finals. The tournament winner also automatically earns an entry into the main event.

The entire schedule for the WPT World Online Championships will be released soon.

Hyllegaard takes down Grand Prix High Roller

The action continues this month in the partypoker Grand Prix and runs through Aug. 2. Denmark’s Patrick Hyllegaard is one of the latest winners after winning the $530 Six-Max High Roller.

The event produced a field of 1,105 entries and Hyllegaard scored $67,197. The victory came five months after taking down a $320 MILLIONS Online Six-Max Turbo.

Hungary’s Viktor Zsemlye finished runner-up for $41,469. For a complete preview and schedule of this series, click here.
