Need for Speed: PokerStars Players Can Now Take the Wheel With New Spin & Go Races

PokerStars announced the launch of Spin & Go Races on Tuesday, a new game with $105,000 in guaranteed prizes awarded each week.

As the Formula One World Championship approaches the series’ crescendo, PokerStars is allowing players to get in on the ride. The site announced the launch of Spin & Go Races on Tuesday, a new game with guaranteed prizes around every corner.

The promotion runs through Nov. 20 and players can compete for a share of $105,000 in guaranteed weekly prizes via Spin & Go Races leaderboards. The promotion is part of the company’s growing partnership with F1’s Oracle Red Bull Racing.

“It’s been a phenomenal season and we’ve been proud to have the PokerStars community, reaping rewards along the way and mirroring our drive to stay at the top,” Oracle Red Bull Racing team principal and CEO Christian Horner said in a news release.

How do PokerStars Spin & Go Races work?

Players looking to get in the game are in store for some fun events with some nice bang for the buck. There are multiple Spin & Go Race leaderboards to choose from, based on the tournament buy-in. Each leaderboard includes 22 races (tournaments) in which to compete.

Fitting for an F1 promotion, there are plenty of racing themes. Each player begins with a full fuel gauge, which remains full for those who win their race.

The gauge decreases if a player finishes second or third. Fuel is key to speeding to the top of the leaderboard. For those who run out of fuel, it’s time for a pit stop and their progress bar is reset before they can try again.

Opting in to get the green flag

The first Spin & Go Race is inspired by the usual Formula One season opener, Bahrain, and got underway this week. Players looking to compete must opt in for the action via the Spin & Go lobby, the leaderboard lobby, or at Spin & Go tables.

This unlocks a player’s participation in the event throughout the duration of the promotion. Here are some other key features of Spin & Go Races:

  • Game numbers – Each attempt is comprised of 22 Spin & Go games. Each week, players can make three attempts at each leaderboard buy-in level.
  • Earning points – The lower the multiplier in the Spin & Go, the more points players earn.
  • Saving fuel – Win the Spin & Go and a player doesn’t lose any fuel. Place second or third and competitors lose 8%. Run out of fuel and the attempt is over.
  • Tracking progress – The Spin & Go lobby allows players to see how they’re doing on the Spin & Go track.

Adding to the F1 PokerStars fun

The new Races build on Stars’ relationship with Oracle Red Bull. The company announced the partnership earlier this year. The multi-year deal features branding on the RB18 Formula One car and racing suits.

Stars is looking to reach some of F1’s growing audience as increasing technological advancements help to provide fans with new and unique ways to enjoy the sport. Past Stars promotions have awarded players with exclusive F1 experiences.

“We strive to give the community epic moments that they’ll never forget and there’s been so much excitement this F1 season, on and off the track, with community members winning unique and epic experiences,” PokerStars director of partnerships, public relations and consumer engagement Rebecca McAdam Willetts said.

“We can’t wait to see Spin & Go Races play out each week and give more rewards as part of our partnership with Oracle Red Bull Racing.”

GGPoker Announces $11 Flip & Go Millionaire Event for November with $1 Million Up for Grabs

GGPoker has announced the launch of the $11 Flip & Go Millionaire, a special tournament with at least $1 million in prizes on the line.

The action just doesn’t seem to slow down lately at GGPoker. The World Series of Poker Online recently wrapped up and the Bounty Hunters Series is still underway at the site.

On Wednesday, GG announced the launch of $11 Flip & Go Millionaire, a special tournament with at least $1 million in prizes on the line.

The tournament’s Flip stages begin on Nov. 1, with the Go stage set for Nov. 11.

What is a GGPoker Flip & Go?

Flip & Go events have become popular at the = site, bringing a bit of luck to the traditional online poker tournament. A live version has even been featured at the WSOP in Las Vegas over the last few years.

When the action begins, players receive three cards. They then discard one and are all in before the community cards are dealt. Each table plays down to a winner, who proceeds to the Go stage.

All players advancing to the second round are guaranteed a cash prize. The Flip & Go Millionaire will feature numerous Flip stages for players to take a shot at advancing.

What to expect from Flip & Go Millionaire

The Flip & Go Millionaire promises to be the biggest and richest Flip & Go tournament in GG history. This event throws in an even wilder aspect of luck as well.

In this tournament format, players choose a buy-in multiplier when registering for the event. The bigger the buy-in, the larger the starting chip stack in the Flip stage. Here’s a look at the schedule for the event.

The Go stage then plays out as a standard No Limit Hold’em tournament. The Millionaire promises some massive payouts for top finishers. Players looking for an even bigger bang for the buck can qualify for even less. GG is offering satellites starting at just $0.11.

“Flip & Go Millionaire will allow players to turn pennies into a share of a million,” GGPoker global head Sarne Lightman said in a news release.

“This format gets players to the most exciting part of the poker tournament faster than ever – it has been designed to maximize the fun, maximize the prizes and accommodate as many players as possible!”

WSOP Online: First Bracelet Winner Crowned at Ontario GGPoker Platform, More Action to Come

The first champion emerged in the WSOP Online on Sunday, held exclusively for players in Ontario, Canada, via GGPoker.

The first champion emerged in the World Series of Poker Online on Sunday, held exclusively for players in Ontario, Canada. The WSOP.com/GGPoker platform in the newly regulated province saw Tristan Schneider claim his first bracelet as the platform’s debut bracelet winner.

Ontario launched a completely regulated online poker market earlier this year. The new WSOP platform also recently went live in Ontario and quickly announced a series of three bracelet events.

The Ontario action comes after summer bracelet events at the live series in Las Vegas as well as WSOP Online bracelet events on WSOP.com in the US and at GGPoker’s international platform.

Event 1: BIG 150 Ontario MILLION$

Schneider, also known by the username “Schneids” on the Ontario platform, topped a field of 1,310 entries in this $150 event to score $28,968 (Canadian dollars).

In heads-up play against “rexdale225,” Schneider held a chip advantage of 7.4 million to 5.1 million when the final hand developed.

That saw Schnieder dealt pocket deuces and both players saw a flop of K♠2♦5♥. That gave Scheids a set of 2s and he checked the action, receiving a check from his opponent as well.

The turn brought the 9♣ and Schneider brought in a nice bet of 635,000. Rexdale called and the 5♠ came on the river, giving Schneider a full house.

After betting 3.6 million, Rexdale moved the last of his 4 million chips in and his opponent quickly called. Rex tabled 8♥5♣ for three of a kind.

That didn’t top Schneider’s full house, however, and he collected the championship and his first bracelet. The win marked a bit of Ontario online poker history.

The first champion emerged in the WSOP Online on Sunday, held exclusively for players in Ontario, Canada, via GGPoker.

More bracelet action on the way in Ontario

Schneider becomes the first bracelet winner on the new platform, but players have a bit more to look forward to. The final two events are set for Oct. 30 and starting flights are now underway.

The remaining schedule includes a $1,050 championship event that caps the series and features the festival’s highest buy-in. The event should offer some nice bragging rights for one lucky player winning the main event.

Some Omaha action also awaits Ontario players. Here’s a look at details of the final two events.

  • Event 2: $210 Omaholic Bounty MILLION$ – final stage, Oct. 30
  • Event 3: $1,050 GGMasters Online Championship – final stage, Oct. 30

The bracelet events also come after WSOP Ontario wrapped Online Circuit events as well. Here’s a look at those winners.

Even more tournaments in the works for GGPoker/WSOP Ontario calendar

Beyond the events in Ontario, even more is coming to the international GG platform. The site has partnered with the Dusk Till Dawn casino for the United Kingdom Poker Championships (UKPC).

The £560 Main Event features a £500,000 guarantee plus £50,000 in added prizes for players who qualify online. The championship event runs online at GGPoker beginning Jan. 7 and live at Dusk Till Dawn on Jan. 11. Numerous qualifiers and satellites are already available.

The Bounty Hunters Series also is underway, running through Nov. 7 with $50 million guaranteed. There are numerous progressive bounty tournaments with buy-ins starting at $5.25.

The series features a $210 Mystery Bounty Main Event with $5 million guaranteed. The final stage plays out on Nov. 7 and includes a $500,000 top bounty.

The WSOP Europe also runs Oct. 26 – Nov. 16 at King’s Resort in Rozvadov, Czech Republic. GG is offering players several qualifying opportunities for the €10,350 Main Event, which gives players a €5 million guarantee.

Ontario Player Scores Big in 888poker BLAST Event, Turns $20 into $140,000 Payday

Short-handed, random-prize tournaments have become popular in recent years. Several online poker operators offer these quick-paced events, which can also reward players with some massive jackpots.

A player on the 888poker Ontario platform recently experienced a massive BLAST tournament winning moment. The Canadian player turned a $20 buy-in into a winning score of $140,000.

What is an 888poker BLAST Sit & Go?

A BLAST Sit & Go sees three players buy in for a certain amount, from 10 cents to $100. A random prize is then awarded in a winner-take-all format.

The biggest prizes range from $1,000 at the lowest buy-in level to $1 million at the highest level. There’s another twist in BLAST events, which gives these tournaments their name.

After a timer counts down to zero, players are then all in each hand until there’s one winner. It’s a fun twist on these popular tournaments.

One additional twist is that all players lucky enough to play in a BLAST for the largest jackpot have a chance to win some money. This means some big bucks for those who even finish runner-up or in third place.

A massive winning moment at 88poker Ontario

In Ontario, the three lucky players found themselves playing in an event with a $200,000 prize pool. These jackpots give players the opportunity to play for up to 10,000 times their buy-in.

Starplayer50” took home the largest portion of that, scoring $140,000 for winning the Sit & Go. Second-place player “lizzyroyal11” added a nice $40,000 payout as well.

Even third-place finisher “brewerybabe1” won a nice $20,000 prize. No doubt all three players were pleased at their good fortune with five- and six-figure payouts.

Adding to recent Sit & Go winners

Many players may dream of landing that kind of payout. In 2021, a few players won even more. Three players cashed in on the ultimate payout at 888 – a $1 million jackpot.

A BLAST at that level pays out $700,000 for first, $200,000 for second, and $100,000 for third. These jackpot-style games offer players a chance at some fun and some big payouts.

On the Platinum Path: Platinum Passes Up for Grabs at PokerStars Live Events in France, Spain

More opportunities are on the way for players in France and Spain to secure a Platinum Pass in two PokerStars Live events.

PokerStars continues dishing out Platinum Passes to players around the world. More opportunities are on the way for players in France and Spain to secure one of the biggest prizes in poker.

Two additional passes are now on the line in upcoming events in Southern Europe. Players can take a shot at scoring a trip to the Caribbean at the France Poker Series Aix-en-Provence and Road to PSPC Madrid.

A Platinum Pass guarantees a player an all-expenses paid trip to the PokerStars Players Championship (PSPC) in the Bahamas in January. Each pass is valued at $30,000.

Winning a PokerStars Platinum Pass at FPS Aix-en-Provence

Some major poker tournament action is coming to the Provence region of southeast France. The FPS Aix-en-Provence series runs 10 days from Nov. 18-27 at the new Pasino Grand Casino.

In announcing the new event, Stars noted the property was “a casino inspired by those in Las Vegas and described as an avant-garde complex.”

The tournament stop wraps up the FPS season as the last stop of PokerStars’ stand-alone regional tours. The series includes a €440 Mystery Bounty event on Nov. 22-23 with a Platinum Pass up for grabs. The tournament highlight will see one player pick out a mystery bounty envelope containing the $30,000 prize.

Those unsuccessful in winning the pass can still look forward to a major tournament with a win. The €1,100 FPS Main Event offers plenty of prestige for the champion.

Texapoker’s CEO and founder, and PokerStars event partner, Apo Chantzis, described adding a Platinum Pass to the tournament mix as a “dream come true.”

This also isn’t the only way to win a Platinum Pass in France. A Road to PSPC is set for Nov. 7-13 at Club Circus Paris.

Road to PSPC heads to Madrid

Players in Spain also have an upcoming opportunity to win a Platinum Pass. The €400 Road to PSPC Madrid runs from Nov. 30 – Dec. 4 at Casino Gran Madrid Torrelodones. The event is one of the last stops on the Road to PSPC schedule.

With lower buy-ins than traditional live tournaments, players can play for less in Madrid. Satellites are now available online from just €0.50 on the Spanish PokerStars platform and French poker client. Direct qualifiers are also available at €50.

What comes with a Platinum Pass?

Platinum Passes are some of the most sought-after prizes in poker. Each pass comes with a $25,000 buy-in to the PSPC and also includes:

  • Six nights’ hotel accommodations for winner and a guest in a five-star hotel
  • Airfare and transfers
  • $1,900 in spending money
  • Exclusive Platinum Pass winner experiences during the event

The series sequel comes after the first WCOOP saw hacking attempts. The site’s security team prevented DDoS attack attempts to breach the site’s, Stars noted, but several events were canceled.

That included the NLHE Main Events. Those tournaments now receive boosts totaling $2.5 million in guaranteed prize money. Here’s a look at those events and what players can expect:

  • $109 NLHE Main Event Low – $3 million guaranteed, an increase of $500,000
  • $1,050 NLHE Main Event Medium – $5 million guaranteed, an increase of $1 million
  • $10,300 NLHE Main Event High – $7 million guaranteed, an increase of $1 million

Even more coming to series

PokerStars has also added $1.5 million in added value satellites as part of the series. Numerous free and low buy-in satellites are already underway.

The WCOOP: Take 2 schedule also includes a variety of new events with buy-ins from just $5.50. Here’s a look at the complete schedule.
