One of the hardest things to do in poker is to evaluate your game objectively. PartyPoker‘s My Game should help players in New Jersey do so in the very near future.
My Game is an interactive tool that will help each Party player analyze every part of his or her play. The utility will point out any major leaks that the player has.

How My Game works
To activate My Game, a player must first complete 100 hands of gameplay in a single session. After that, the tool will begin its monitoring process and will work toward generating an analysis of the player’s actions.
My Game will deliver new analyses to the player 24 hours after the conclusion of each session. The report will grade the player’s performance, identify weaknesses in the player’s game and offer tips to improve those areas.
My Game uses Game Theory Optimal strategy as the basis for its analysis. In essence, the tool will analyze the level of balance the player has in various attributes.
Those attributes include game aspects like blind stealing, three-bet range and post-flop aggression. Ultimately, the report will grade the player on five different dimensions of his or her game.
Grades follow a similar scheme to school letter grades. The player will receive tips, hints and strategies for any dimension that receives a grade below A.
My Game will also rate each player’s overall skill level on the report card. Players will be ranked anywhere from Rookie to Elite Pro.
For players who find themselves beneath Elite Pro level, the software also offers two training courses. Players can use “The Clinic” or “Fundamentals” to hone the rough parts of their games and achieve higher rankings.
Of course, a higher rank is not the point of poker. However, it stands to reason that higher-ranked players will usually earn more money, too.
My Game is not yet uploaded to the New Jersey version of Party’s software. It is expected to be included in an update in the next few weeks.
PartyPoker needs an edge in New Jersey
Perhaps My Game will help to jumpstart PartyPoker in New Jersey. Lately, things have not been going so well for the site there.
In fact, the entire Borgata license, of which Party is a part, only reported poker revenues of $488,505 for January 2019. That figure is the sum total of the work of four different sites and two networks. Borgata Poker, playMGM Poker, and PartyPoker are on the Borgata network, and Pala Poker is on its own network.
By comparison, the casino revenues on Borgata’s license for the same period were roughly $4.25 million, or almost nine times as much as those for poker. Even sports betting exceeded poker’s performance, and Borgata is not a powerhouse in the NJ sports betting market by any means.
In fact, we wondered earlier this month if one or more of the sites on Borgata’s license might shut its doors soon. The meager profits that each site generates might not be worth the opportunity cost of keeping them running.
My Game might give Party the edge to climb back on top, or at least, out of the cellar. Though the technology isn’t new (GGPoker has a similar product called Pokercraft), it would help to separate Party from the competition a bit.
Party has also made several player-friendly alterations to the site. The site’s VIP program now offers generous cash-back opportunities, and every player has access to a built-in heads-up display.
It seems that Party is moving in the opposite direction of competitor PokerStars NJ. PokerStars has been under fire the past couple of weeks for reducing the benefits of its Stars Rewards program.
As a result, Party’s changes to its offering might end up being quite timely. It remains to be seen whether PokerStars players stay angry enough to consider the switch.
USPoker will review and report about My Game once it becomes available in New Jersey. Be sure to check back in the next few weeks for our take on the new software.
