According to Caesars Entertainment Las Vegas regional President Sean McBurney, the new poker room inside the famous casino will be open “before the World Series of Poker starts.”
While the official opening date hasn’t been announced, Las Vegas blog Vegas Advantage has reported, from an inside source, that the new room will feature eight tables and will open on May 16th.
According to the recently released 2025 WSOP schedule, this is just 11 days before the start of the annual poker “summer camp.” Everyone that feels like they know how to play Texas Hold’em at a high level, as well as the dreamers and the whales, will be there for seven weeks.
Caesars, directly across the street from Horseshoe and Paris, the home of WSOP, has undergone several renovations over the past couple of years.
“Something that we’ve learned over (the course of) six decades at Caesars Palace is that properties have to continue to reinvent themselves,” McBurney told the Las Vegas Review Journal.
“We hadn’t really touched the common spaces. So, we started this project of renovating the common spaces (at Caesars Palace) coming right out of COVID.”
The completed renovations include the main casino entrance, hotel lobby, casino dome, porte-cochere, the Flavian Sky Suites, and more.
A new bar, more high-limit gaming areas have also been added, with the Colosseum Tower (formerly the Forum Tower) fitted with 440 brand-new rooms and suites.
If you’re looking to learn how to play poker, starting at a $1/$2 cash game is generally your best bet. The new poker room at Caesars is sure to have those games as well as bigger games and small poker tournaments.
