New Doyle Brunson Big Game Show Makes PokerGO Worth The Price

Up until now, the $10 per month PokerGO subscription fee hasn’t been worth it. Especially for US Poker fans who understand the game is more than just Texas Hold ’em.

There have been plenty of high-stakes, cash-game action on the Poker After Dark revamp. Plus, big-time tournament coverage of everything from the Super High Roller Bowl to World Series of Poker events and World Poker Tour final tables.

However, outside of the very rare Pot Limit Omaha or mixed-game special, PokerGO has fed subscribers a steady diet of Hold ’em, Hold ’em and more Hold ’em.

Inside the Big Game

Fortunately, that’s all set to change this week with the debut of a new show. One that – pinch me – will take poker fans into a televised version of the famed Big Game inside Bobby’s Room at Bellagio in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Dolly’s Game is a regularly scheduled live poker program hosted by poker legend Doyle Brunson. It will premier on the PokerGO streaming service on Monday, Jan. 7.

The show promises to provide a window into the high stakes mixed games Brunson has played for decades. Each session will feature a number of Big Game regulars alongside Texas Dolly himself.

Of course, Bobby’s Room has been traded in for the PokerGO Studio at ARIA Resort & Casino. Plus, it remains to be seen if the action will feature the same $800/$1,600 to $4,000/$8,000 limits. Plus, the six-figure pots found in the Big Game.

However, if Dolly’s Game is anywhere near an approximation of the Big Game action, it alone will be worth the $10 monthly PokerGO subscription fee.

Brunson himself sounds stoked in the canned quote provided in Poker Central’s press release:

“I’ve been playing this great game my entire life and I’m glad to continue the legacy and bring it to a new, wider audience.”

The show should feature some of poker’s biggest celebrities playing a variety of games at the biggest stakes.

Mixed games on TV

Assuming it is a made-for-TV version of the Big Game as promised, Dolly’s Game will be many poker fans first opportunity to experience the joy of games like ace-to-five triple draw or seven-card stud eights or better on TV. They’re in for a real treat.

Many of the mixed games played in the Big Game may not have the instantly dramatic made-for-TV appeal of Hold ’em. However, for years mixed-game players have known it can be fun, challenging and certainly interesting. If you like poker, you’re going to love this.

The games will surely entertain viewers. Plus, they may even learn a few things watching the best in the world play at the highest stakes.

Dolly’s Game is sure to bring fans closer to the Big Game than most have ever even dreamed of being. That means PokerGO will have finally cracked the code on worth-the-money poker programming; sounds like a win-win.

Personally, I’ve never had a reason to do so before, but you can sign me up now.
