A World Series of Poker (WSOP) divulgou o calendário oficial para a edição de 2025, que ocorrerá de 27 de maio a 16 de julho nos cassinos Horseshoe e Paris, em Las Vegas. Este ano, a série contará com um número recorde de 100 eventos valendo braceletes, abrangendo uma ampla variedade de modalidades e faixas de buy-in.
O destaque principal é o Main Event, agendado para começar em 2 de julho, com buy-in de US$ 10.000. Este torneio, conhecido por sua estrutura freezeout (sem reentradas), terá quatro dias iniciais. Na edição anterior, o Main Event registrou mais de 10.000 participantes, com o campeão Jonathan Tamayo levando para casa US$ 10 milhões. A expectativa é que números semelhantes sejam alcançados em 2025.
Entre as novidades deste ano, destaca-se o torneio “Battle of the Ages”. Com buy-in de US$ 1.000, este evento divide os participantes em dois grupos: jogadores com 50 anos ou mais e aqueles abaixo dessa idade. Cada grupo compete separadamente no Dia 1, unindo-se no Dia 2 para disputar o bracelete. Outra inovação é a introdução do torneio TORSE, uma variação do tradicional HORSE, substituindo o Hold’em pelo Triple Draw 2-7.
Para facilitar a participação de jogadores com diferentes orçamentos, a WSOP promoverá satélites online através de plataformas como a WSOP.com nos EUA e o GGPoker em outros países, incluindo o Brasil. Na edição passada, o GGPoker classificou cerca de 1.000 jogadores por meio desses satélites, e espera-se que o sucesso se repita este ano.
Além das competições em Las Vegas, a WSOP anunciou o retorno do “Torneio dos Campeões” ao cassino Commerce, em Los Angeles. Marcado para ocorrer de 15 a 17 de maio, este freeroll distribuirá US$ 1 milhão em prêmios e é exclusivo para vencedores de braceletes e anéis do WSOP Circuit na temporada 2024/25, bem como campeões da última edição da WSOP. Os participantes qualificados não precisarão pagar buy-in para competir.
Ty Stewart, CEO da WSOP, expressou entusiasmo com o retorno ao Commerce Casino: “Estamos felizes em retornar ao Commerce para a 15ª edição do Torneio dos Campeões, um freeroll com US$ 1 milhão em prêmios. Além de vários satélites para a WSOP, também vamos ter US$ 2 milhões garantidos no Main Event da etapa. Isso é uma espécie de cerimônia de abertura da WSOP 2025.”
Brasil no WSOP
Na edição de 2024, o brasileiro Ramon Kropmanns alcançou a mesa final do Torneio dos Campeões, terminando em sexto lugar e levando um prêmio de US$ 35.000. O campeão daquele ano, Dong Meng, conquistou o bracelete e um prêmio de US$ 200.000.
Na edição deste ano a streamer brasileira Cynthia Kelly, conhecida como “Cynthiaks”, garantiu sua participação no Main Event da World Series of Poker (WSOP) 2025 ao vencer um dos satélites da promoção “Road to Vegas” promovida pela GGPoker. O pacote conquistado inclui o buy-in de US$ 10.000 para o torneio principal, além de US$ 1.000 para despesas adicionais e US$ 1.000 para acomodação durante o evento em Las Vegas.
A promoção “Road to Vegas” visa distribuir até 1.000 pacotes completos para o Main Event da WSOP 2025. Os satélites classificatórios ocorrem diariamente na plataforma da GGPoker, com buy-ins principais de US$ 250 e US$ 1.200. No torneio de US$ 250, apenas uma vaga é concedida por evento, enquanto nos de US$ 1.200, um número maior de vagas é disponibilizado. Para facilitar o acesso aos torneios de buy-in mais alto, a GGPoker oferece etapas qualificatórias (steps) com valores iniciais de US$ 1.
Além de Cynthia, outros brasileiros, como o streamer “XandimBR”, também asseguraram suas vagas por meio do “Road to Vegas”. A promoção continuará ativa até meados de junho, ampliando as chances para que mais jogadores brasileiros se juntem ao seleto grupo que competirá no Main Event da WSOP.
Para aqueles que preferem garantir sua participação sem passar pelos satélites, a GGPoker possibilita a inscrição direta no Main Event, permitindo que os jogadores evitem filas no evento presencial e assegurem uma experiência mais tranquila em Las Vegas.
A WSOP 2025 promete ser uma das edições mais emocionantes da história, oferecendo uma combinação de eventos tradicionais e inovações que certamente atrairão jogadores de todo o mundo.
