Texas Hold’em

All players receive two cards each, which may be combined with up to five in the middle of the table.
The aim is to make the strongest hand possible from the seven available cards, or bluff your opponents out of the pot. Hold’em can use a Fixed, Pot or No limit betting structure.
Omaha
What would happen if you took Hold’em and gave everyone two additional cards? Well, that’s basically Omaha, although you must use exactly two from your starting hand.
The extra cards in play affect strategy and a tighter approach is favored.
The Black Chip Poker lobby also features a couple of popular Omaha variants. Omaha Hi-Lo is effectively two games in one, where players aim to make both the strongest hand and the best “low” hand.
Five Card Omaha, on the other hand, is essentially the same as the regular game, with an additional card per starting hand.
Seven Card Stud
This game isn’t as popular as it was last century, but it’s a strategic affair that’s well-suited to disciplined players.
As the name implies, everyone can receive up to seven cards, three of which are hidden. It’s usually played with a Fixed Limit structure.
A true classic, we’re happy to see Seven Stud on the Black Chip Poker tournament roster, not to mention the cash tables.
There are also Stud Hi-Lo games, sometimes called “Eight Or Better”, where each pot is divided into two. Half is reserved for the best “low” hand, with the remainder awarded to the player with the strongest hand.

The selection of tournaments is simply fantastic. Regardless of your bankroll, there’s always something suitable.
At the lower end of the scale, there are daily $50 freerolls, plus fun events like the Penny Hoot Bankroll Builder. This literally has a buy-in of one cent.
In contrast, there are regular $1,000 + $50 high roller events, while the Venom Main Events carry buy-ins of $2,650.
Venom is probably the most famous Black Chip Poker tournament, having broken a world record in 2024 with its $12.6 million prizepool.

The latter is especially interesting, offering protection against the variance associated with all-in situations. A special platform also makes it easy and safe to stake other players.
It does take a little longer than it should for the Black Chip Poker download to complete, and the forced updates can be annoying. Still, in the grand scheme of things, these are minor gripes.
On the flip side, checking a box enables the automatic Black Chip Poker sign in feature, speeding things up. This site is also one of the few which allow the use of hand tracking software and HUD tools.

The Black Chip Poker mobile app is only available for Android users, otherwise it would surely secure full marks.
It certainly looks pretty, but the design is also intuitive. We particularly like the menu which greets you upon login, for example, which neatly groups the most common features into categories that make sense.
All of the features and actions on the desktop version are also available in the mobile app, such as claiming any Black Chip Poker bonus code, funding your account, contacting support, etc.
Although we complained about the Black Chip Poker desktop software taking a long time to download, that’s not the case on mobile.
