WSOP.com is the online poker option of the historic World Series of Poker and offers players the largest poker network in the US. As of July 2021, it remained the only American shared liquidity market for real money online poker.

The site offers major online tournaments, cash games and more, with player and prize pools combined in Nevada, New Jersey and Michigan. WSOP.com is also available in Pennsylvania. Expanding the platform’s footprint likely will continue as soon as more states legalize online real-money poker.

Real money online poker at WSOP.com

WSOP.com officially launched in 2013 when Nevada, New Jersey and Delaware all legalized online poker. Initially, traffic wasn’t great, but it improved following the signing of shared liquidity agreements with Delaware in 2015 and New Jersey in 2018.

WSOP NJ and WSOP NV suddenly shared player and prize pools among those two states and also with 888poker in Delaware. The combined group is branded as the All American Poker Network and remained the only shared liquidity market as of July 2021.

Because of that, WSOP.com regularly hosts the largest events in the US online poker market. The site also produces the most traffic and revenue, as well. In Nevada, the site also remains the only poker option.

In July 2021, the site’s footprint expanded even more. WSOP.com officially added Pennsylvania to the fold. The following year, in March, Michigan was also added. Both states are a “ringed-in” market, meaning users only compete with players in their state. So, Michigan users only go against Michigan players, and Pennsylvania players only go against Pennsylvania users.

That could change soon, however. The Biden administration declined to appeal a federal appeals court ruling regarding the Wire Act. The previous administration believed the act applied to all forms of online gambling beyond sports betting.

The gambling industry filed suit and won the first round in court. The appeals court affirmed that ruling in January 2021. It will now be up to individual states to come to agreements regarding interstate compacts. That process will take some time, but means that WSOP.com’s All American Poker Network should be expanding in the future.

Pennsylvania and Michigan are excellent additions to the network. Pennsylvania has a population of 12.8 million and Michigan checks in at jus over 10 million, which, in addition to New Jersey (8.9 million), Nevada (3.1 million) and Delaware (1 million), would bring the network’s reach to about 35.8 million.

The site saw a boost in players during the COVID-19 pandemic of 2020, and those historical highs continued throughout 2021. The WSOP.com platform offers some extras not available at other sites, including the chance to compete for championship gold bracelets. The site also hosts regular WSOP Circuit Online Series on the platform, offering players a chance to win championship rings.

How to sign up for WSOP.com

Joining WSOP.com is an easy process. Players must be 21 or older in Michigan, New Jersey, Nevada and Pennsylvania, and in Delaware for 888poker (the WSOP platform’s partner in the state). Players have to be located within those states to play, but not to create or fund an account.

To start with, players first need to download the software client or app. Online poker sites make use of geolocation software to determine if a player is located within a state’s borders. But creating and funding an account ahead of time is easy. You’ll need to provide just a few quick details like the following:

  • Name
  • Address
  • Email
  • Username
  • Password

WSOP.com sign-up bonuses

When you sign up you’ll be eligible for a 100% deposit matching bonus.

The deposit bonus ensures a 100% match of whatever a new player deposits. Fund your account with $400 and you can expect a $400 bonus. WSOP.com sends the funds to your account in increasing amounts, and here’s how to release them:

  • First $10: Paid out in $1 chunks. Simply play enough to produce $5 in rake to release one chunk.
  • Next $40: Paid out in $5 increments. You reach this level when you pay $25 in rake. The $40 releases in one total amount.
  • Remaining $350: The final portion of the bonus releases in $10 chunks once you pay an additional $50 in rake.

Players are always earning 20% of what they paid in rake (or tournament fees) regardless of what increment level they’re working on. This is a pretty decent deal for players in all three states.

In addition, in every state but Nevada, you’ll get a bonus play reward based on the size of your deposit. Here’s a look at what you need to deposit to get preset amount in bonus play:

  • Deposit between $10-$250 and get a $25 bonus
  • Deposit between $251-$500 and get a $50 bonus
  • Deposit between $501-$999 and get a $75 bonus
  • Deposit $1,000 or more and get a $100 bonus

Additional parts of the WSOP welcome bonus

Along with the other bonuses we have mentioned, WSOP.com also throws in even more bonuses for new players, including seven $100 freeroll tickets, spins on the Winner Spinner Wheel, and a chance for a free entry to the WSOP Main Event in Las Vegas. These additional bonuses vary by state, so visit WSOP.com to learn more.

WSOP.com traffic overview

The WSOP’s All American Poker Network features the largest player and prize pools of any real money online poker site in the US. Shared liquidity between Nevada and New Jersey, and with 888poker in Delaware, fuels this along with the chance to win major events like WSOP online bracelet events.

After several years of stagnation, the pandemic of 2020 saw historic highs for the network and US online poker as a whole. That wave continued into 2021.

Cash traffic

According to PokerScout’s Worldwide Online Poker Traffic Tracker, WSOP.com US clocks in at the 22nd ranked online poker site as of July 2021. The site was finding a seven-day average of players from 200 to 220, with 24-hour peaks in the 400 to 450 range. Traffic picks up in the evening, with peak hours from 8 to 10 p.m.

Tournament traffic

WSOP.com offers numerous major tournament series throughout the year. That includes the WSOP Online, which rewards players with championship gold bracelets. In 2021, those events saw fields in the range of 800 to 1,500 (depending on whether they allowed re-entries). Other tournament series may see fewer players but are more regular and continue to attract nice fields.

WSOP.com games

This platform offers several poker variations, but No Limit Texas Hold’em remains the most popular on the site. However, Omaha players will also find regular action, including some events during major tournament series.

WSOP.com cash games

Cash game players can expect plenty of No Limit Hold’em, with action available most of the time at some level. Peak traffic hours may also mean some Omaha and seven card stud for players, as well.

Hold’em

Available stakes range from $0.01/$0.02 to $3/$6 for No Limit Hold’em and from $0.05/$0.10 to $10/$20 for Fixed Limit Hold’em. Both six-max and nine-max tables are available, but we recommend sticking to the former if you’re planning to play during off-hours.

Omaha

When it comes to Omaha, stakes range from $0.01/$0.02 to $2/$4 for the regular pot-limit variant and from $0.05/$0.10 to $10/$20 for Omaha Hi-Lo. Just like in the case of Hold’em, the network supports both six-max and nine-max tables.

Seven card stud

Stud is definitely less popular than Hold’em and Omaha, but finding a heads-up opponent after 8 p.m. is something you expect, not something that you pray for. Stakes range from $0.05/$0.10 to $0.10/$0.20 for Seven Card Stud High and from $0.05/$0.10 to $10/$20 for Seven Card Stud Hi-Lo.

WSOP.com multi-table tournaments

Tournament players are in luck at WSOP.com. As a three-state network, the player and prize pools are larger than other competing sites that haven’t been able to link up via interstate compacts.

Players will find some nice daily and weekly events, including some Sunday majors with more than $250,000 in guarantees. That includes the $100K Sunday tournament featuring a $320 buy-in.

Beyond that, WSOP also brings some major cachet thanks to the history of the series itself. The site offers players the opportunity to qualify for live WSOP tournaments in Las Vegas, including the $10,000 Main Event.

The platform also began offering online bracelet events in 2015. That greatly expanded during the pandemic and included another 33 championship bracelets on the line in 2021.

Each summer, WSOP.com usually sees a surge in traffic with so many players in Las Vegas able to compete for bracelets. This is also good for players in New Jersey, who can benefit from more traffic than at other times of the year.

In recent years, the site has run several WSOP Circuit series online, usually with 12 events awarding championship rings. The site also adds “Super” Online Series a few times during the year, featuring 18 championship ring events.

Beyond those major series, WSOP.com runs regular series almost monthly, including the Summer Series, Summer Online Championships and numerous others. Tournament players will nearly always find an event to suit their bankrolls.

Other poker offerings on WSOP.com

Beyond traditional tournaments and cash games, you also have a chance to jump in numerous other options. Here’s a look at a few of those:

Sit and go tournaments

These single-table events are extremely popular and are a great way to play a quick tournament when you don’t have a lot of time. WSOP.com runs regular and turbo No Limit Hold’em sit and go’s in heads-up, six-handed and nine-handed formats.

Buy-ins range from $1.10 to $55. Obviously nine-handed events will take longer than six-handed, but there is an option for everyone no matter the time one has to play.

BLAST tournaments

These are another fun option for players short on time or who just don’t want to play a longer tournament-style event. A BLAST tournament is a four-handed super-turbo sit and go with the prize pool determined before the event begins.

The payout depends on a draw that takes place at the beginning of each tournament and varies from 2 to 10,000 times the buy-in. Players have a chance to win huge multiples of the actual buy-in. There is a twist, however. After the timer runs down to zero, all players are then all-in.

Hero Freeroll

WSOP.com offers this $1,000 freeroll on the third Saturday of every month as a way to honor current and retired police, fire fighters and members of the US military. Those who verify their service receive a freeroll ticket every month.

WSOP.com rewards program

Those jumping in the action at WSOP.com will earn Player Rewards the more they play. This loyalty program is similar to those one might find at a traditional casino or other poker room. The system at WSOP.com is tiered and volume-based.

The tiered part of that means that reaching higher loyalty levels allows you to be more efficient when playing. The volume-based part means the rewards you receive depend on how much you play.

In order to advance or maintain your level, you’ll need to accumulate Action Player Points. You earn these at a rate of two points per every dollar you pay in rake or fees. Players qualify for rakeback depending on the number of points that they accrue. Here’s a look at the reward schedule below. As you’ll notice, players need to accumulate at least 200 APPs to receive rakeback.

  • Player (monthly) — 0-199 APPs ($0-$99 in rake) = 0% rakeback
  • Bronze (monthly) — 200-749 APPs ($100-$324 in rake) = 8% rakeback
  • Silver (monthly) — 750-1,499 APPs ($325-$749 in rake) = 20% rakeback
  • Elite (monthly) — 1,500-19,999 APPs ($750-$9,999 in rake) = 25% rakeback
  • Champions Club (annual) — 20,000+ APPs ($10,000+ in rake) = 32% rakeback

Making a deposit

Funding an account is simple at WSOP.com. You can use major, legitimate deposit method and know your money is secure. Online poker sites must meet stringent oversight rules so that player funds and personal information are secure.

  • ACH/e-check — This is another great option for those who may not have an e-wallet. Funds are transferred right from a player’s bank.

    • Paris Las Vegas (Nevada)
    • Caesars Atlantic City (New Jersey)

Other WSOP promotions

A fairly regular benefit at WSOP.com is the Happy Hours promotion, allowing you to double your APP gains if you play between 8 p.m. and 12 a.m. That happens to be when traffic hits its peak, so this can have a very positive impact on your rakeback percentage.

Other than that, WSOP.com hosts numerous other promotions. The Sit and Go Leaderboards offer players a chance at some extra cash for scoring higher each month. BLAST players will also find a monthly leaderboard.

WSOP.com also regularly offers reload bonuses for those looking to add some more funds to their accounts. Players will find numerous other promotions each month, and it can pay to keep an eye out.
