Shannon Shorr Wins WSOPC Horseshoe Las Vegas Main Event

One of the most familiar names in tournament poker got a milestone tournament victory on Monday at the Horseshoe in Las Vegas.

Shannon Shorr took down the World Series of Poker Circuit Horseshoe Las Vegas Main Event for $207,615, topping the 774 entries that made up the field. This was Shorr’s first WSOPC Main Event title to add another notch to his illustrious career resume.

The WSOPC event at the Horseshoe in Las Vegas was a great primer for players getting ready for the 2025 WSOP schedule, which is approaching very closely in less than two months.

Shorr’s Career Plaudits

This win for Shorr is special as a WSOP Circuit Main Event remained elusive despite winning almost every other poker title available under the sun throughout his career.

Let’s take a look at the list of poker credentials for Shorr;

  • Two WSOP bracelets, both online.
  • Three titles in the now defunct “Bellagio Cup” series, including his career best score of $960,690
  • PCA title in the Bahamas
  • Two EPT titles in Barcelona
  • Three WPT titles: two at Seminole Hardrock and one at the Borgata
  • Seminole Hard Rock Poker Open title
  • Four PokerGo Tour titles

Shorr’s career is so successful that the $207,615 grand prize, which would be a massive boon for most players, ranks as only the 18th biggest score of his career. This win moves his career total earnings very close to the $15 million mark, with just over $14.9 million.

He is by far and away the most successful player ever from the state of Alabama, having well over double the career earnings of the second-highest earner from the Deep South state.

Win at the Horseshoe

What better way to win his first than to do it right down the road from his home in Vegas? While Shorr originally hails from Alabama, he is now a Vegas local. Thanks to its locality at the Horseshoe, he was able to play this event, as he now balances being a father of two children with being a professional poker player.

This particular win at the Horseshoe was a big one as it is one of the middle-sized WSOP Circuit Main Events with 774 entries. Some, like Cherokee, are larger, but this one is still more prominent designations than many on the slate.

Shorr came in an efficient fashion as he was the chip leader for much of the latter part of the final table showing off his deep knowledge of poker hand ranges.

He finished off his opponents in quick order as he would simply not be denied of this Circuit title, eventually capping it off by defeating Jordyn Miller heads up.
