Rebate Reward: 888poker Offers a Chance for Players to Win Their Tournament Buy-ins Back

The “Tweet for Your Seat” promotion at 888poker runs Dec. 29 – Feb. 1 and allows players to potentially receive their tournament buy-in back.

The 20th anniversary celebration may be coming to a close at 888poker, but the site has one big event left for online poker players.

The “Tweet for Your Seat” promotion runs Dec. 29 – Feb. 1 and allows players to potentially receive their tournament buy-ins back. That could be a nice way for players to ring in the new year.

“At 888poker, we’re giving players even more reason to play hard and go deep in our online poker tournaments,” the company noted in announcing the event. “It’s our special, exclusive event, capping off a fantastic 20th anniversary and  kicking off an even more exciting 2023 – where we reward our loyal patrons. This is one January offer you don’t want to miss!”

How to get an 888poker buy-in returned

Trying to see some of that buy-in money returned for a tournament is a fairly simple process. Players must first follow 888poker on Twitter.

Players who then finish in the top three of a tournament qualify for receiving their buy-in back. Those players can simply post a screenshot of their finish on Twitter while also tagging @888poker and using the hashtag #tweet4seat.

The minimum ticket buy-in for the promotion is $1 with a maximum of $33. For example, Team888 ambassador Ian Simpson could have been rewarded with his buy-in returned for this recent win.

Players already posting their wins

The “tweet4seat” offers players a nice way to ring in the new year with a virtual freeroll for those finishing in the top three. The promotion is now underway and players have already been posting their wins on Twitter.

One player already posted his runner-up finish and was looking for that buy-in sent back to his account. No doubt even more are looking for their own ways to win on the felt and post to get that buy-in returned.

888poker celebrated the company’s 20th anniversary throughout 2022 and offered plenty of opportunities for players over the last 12 months.

The company was awarded with the Operator of the Year recognition by EGaming Review in October. Company officials looked back on the 2022 events recently as the anniversary celebration came to a close.

“It’s been a year where we, as a company, have focused even more on player satisfaction,” 888 officials noted in a news release. “We have endeavored to provide a safe and happy environment where everyone can enjoy the game we all love and respect.”

Adding to the 888poker ambassador ranks

888 was busy on the ambassador front in 2022. The site added a team of cultural ambassadors, including boxer Chris Eubank Jr., YouTuber Jack “JaackMaate” Dean, and Brazilian influencer Caue Moura.

“These new faces instantly gave the 888poker ambassador team a massive boost with their millions of followers across multiple social media platforms,” 888 officials noted.

The site also added some top performers on the poker felt as new site ambassadors. The roster now includes Ian Simpson, Lucia Navarro, and Alexandre “Cavalito” Mantovani.

All three new members have strengthened the team strategically, 888 officials noted, and increased the site’s diversity and appeal to a broader range of poker enthusiasts.

888poker also brought back some favorite events as part of the Retro Week Series. The festival awarded almost $1 million in 26 events.]

888poker continues adding to the site’s ambassador roster and announced the signing of Spanish poker pro Lucia Navarro on Tuesday.

888poker Live also returns

Live poker also returned in a big way in 2022.  888poker Live offered players a complete full-year schedule. That included successful events in London, Madrid, Barcelona, and Bucharest.

888 also ramped up promotions for the World Series of Poker. Multiple online qualifiers and team members earned trips to play in the series in Las Vegas.

Nick “eastyyy22” Eastwood ran the deepest among StreamTeam members, finding a min-cash finish. Ambassador Alexandre “Cavalito” Mantovani put together the best 888 team finish, reaching 266th for $46,800.

Of the online qualifiers, Brazil’s Thiago Pirani bagged a WSOP package in a $22 online qualifier. He then went on to finish 157th, grabbing a payout of $62,500.

888 Live also recently announced a full slate of live events for 2023. That included stops in Madrid, London, Barcelona, and more.

Mystery bounty tournaments take the spotlight

The site’s 20th anniversary year saw mystery bounty tournaments become a regular part of the 888poker action. Unlike regular knockout tournaments, the amounts on opponents’ heads are initially hidden in mystery bounty events.

The bounty is revealed only after that player has been eliminated. 888 hosted the Knockout Games – Mystery Bounty Edition in 2022 with a $50,000 bounty highlighting the action in the Main Event.

A look at what’s ahead in 2023

Players can expect more from 888 in 2023. That includes the addition of a new Discord channel. 888 officials hope to use the platform as a way to keep players updated on the latest news from the site.

Numerous live and online series are also planned for the upcoming poker year. The new year offers plenty of events for online poker players to check out.

Happy Holidays series offers big guarantees, big mystery bounty action

The Happy Holidays Sale runs from Dec. 19-26 and includes several popular tournaments. The site’s new Mystery Bounty events are a big part of the schedule as well and have been attracting nice numbers of players.

The $55 Mystery Bounty Main Event highlights the action and discounts the $109 buy-in to $55.

The tournament kicks off on Christmas Day, Dec. 25, with the final table streamed live on the 888pokerTV Twitch channel on Dec. 26.

“So after you’ve made room for that leftover Christmas dinner,” 888 noted in announcing the series, “make time to tune into a Boxing Day poker live stream feast.”

More highlights on the schedule

Even more interesting events are a part of the Happy Holidays Sale menu. Two more major tournaments keep the bounty festivities going.

This pair of Mystery Bounty events also come with a 50% discount, but keep the regular guarantees in place. The $55 Mystery Bounty is set for Dec. 25 and features a $15,000 guarantee. However, that buy-in is now discounted to $27.50.

The $525 Mystery Bounty High Roller runs on the same day with the regular $40,000 guarantee. But the Happy Holidays Sale has that price point reduced to $265.

Players with even lower bankrolls will also find some nice bargains. For example, the $22 Mystery Bounty comes with an $11 discounted price while preserving the $10,000 guarantee. Here’s a look at the complete schedule.

POKER PODIUM: November Online Poker Winners Include Luis Faria for Massive $1.2 Million Payday

November brought about plenty of major winners in the international online poker scene including Luis Faria with a seven-figure score.

The month of November brought about plenty of major winners in the international online poker scene. That was highlighted by Portugal’s Luis Faria coming out on top in the WCOOP Take 2 Main Event for a seven-figure score.

Other action also saw players cash in for major victories at a tiny price point. That included a six-figure win for only $6 at GGPoker. An 888poker winner also turned a free entry into a major championship. Here’s a look at some players who shined in November.

PokerStars

The World Championship of Poker (WCOOP) Take 2 played out in November and saw some big names rise to the top. The mini-series featured $28 million guaranteed and several main events.

The $10,300 Main Event highlighted the series with Luis Faria coming out on top for $1.3 million. The event brought in 760 entries for a $7.6 million prize pool.

The massive score came after winning a $530 PKO Sunday Warm-Up earlier in the series for $83,854. Along with his massive online winnings, Faria also has $811,000 in live tournament cashes.

Benny “RunGodlike” Glaser proved to be another nice winner in the series, taking two titles in Take 2 for a total of four during the entire WCOOP series. During Take 2, Glaser scored $19,107 for winning Event 14-H: HORSE and also grabbed a title in Event 04-L: No Limit Omaha Hi/Lo for $2,334.

PokerStars ambassador Parker “Tonkaaaa” Talbott also grabbed a trophy, winning Event 02-H: $1,050 Eight-Game for $21,092. It was almost a Take 2 double for the Canadian poker pro as well.  He finished runner-up in Event 05-H: $1,050 Turbo for $30,970.

Some other Stars ambassadors also found nice runs in the series. Spanish pro and the winner of the first PokerStars Player Championship, Ramon Colilas, scored runner-up in Event 01-H for $26,846. Mason “Pye_Face” Pye also found a second place in Event 02-M: $109 Eight-Game for $4,980.

The United Kingdom’s Sam Grafton is no stranger to online poker success and that continued in Take 2. He just missed out on winning the $530 Main Event, finishing runner-up for $44,258. Argentina’s Ramiro “ramastar88” Petrone took that title for $62,088.

Grafton also finished in third place in a $5,000 Titans side event for $94,343. He also has more than $12 million in live tournament winnings.

GGPoker

A nice story emerged from GG in November. The site’s $11 Flip & Go Millionaire offered players of all bankrolls a chance at a nice payday and topped the $1 million guarantee.

In the end, 22-year-old German university student Niclas G. came out on top for $54,929.

“It still feels incredible to have won such a big tournament with over $1 million guaranteed,” he told PokerScout after the win. “Many players wait for these spots their entire life, and it really took me a while to realize what I had achieved.”

Interestingly, Niclas missed out on much of the early stages of the tournament.

“I was actually on the road for the first one or two hours of the tournament, and was sitting out like a third of the hands since I wasn’t able to be on the phone the whole time,” he says. “Nevertheless, I managed to build a stack and continued playing at home until the end.”

GG also recently launched Bet & Go tournaments to correspond with World Cup events. Players can notch some nice wins in these football-style tournaments. One player celebrated grabbing a $10,000 SuperMillion$ seat after an Argentina win. It looked to be a nice feeling to score a win on the tournament felt and on the pitch.

One player on the site also saw quite an interesting hand play out with a majority of the table starting with pocket pairs.

888poker

It was a busy month in November at 888poker with plenty of winners in the site’s Knockout Games Mystery Bounty series. One of the biggest of those was Germany’s “quvai” in the $250 Main Event.

Quavi scored a free entry into the $250 Main Event for free via 888pokerTV ticket giveaway. He then turned that into winning the title and scoring a total of $40,613 – a 100% return on investment.

888’s own StreamTeam member Jordan Banfield also produced a nice result in the event. He took fourth place for $17,327. The tournament saw 1,924 entries and featured a $500,000 prize pool with a $50,000 top bounty. The UK’s “youler” was the lucky winner of that prize, taking home a total of $52,050.

In the $2,100 Super High Roller PKO saw 57 players for a $114,000 prize pool. “Matas.C” scored the title for a total payout of $35,656.

Overall, players from Brazil notched the most wins in the series with five titles. Lithuanians players finished second with three. Ukraine, Chile, Latvia, the United Kingdom, Germany, Canada, and Ukraine all had two titles.

In other recent action, the 888poker continued the site’s 20th-anniversary celebration in November with the CNP888poker LIVE Madrid series in Spain at the Casino Gran Madrid Torrelodones.

The €1,100 Main Event highlighted the action and brought in 374 entries for €349,241 prize pool. Spain’s Abel Gongora reached the final table with  a sizable chip lead and parlayed that into a win.

He scored €70,000 for his efforts and now has more than $100,000 in live tournament winnings. Bernat Carreras, also of Spain, finished runner-up for €50,000.

PartyPoker

One of the biggest recent winners at PartyPoker may be Sebastien Proulx. The Canadian player took down the MILLIONS Online KO Winter Edition Main Event for $123,602 after qualifying via a $6 satellite.

Proulx advanced up three qualifying steps before taking his seat into the Main Event. It was quite a run to winning six figures for the price of a hamburger and fries.

In other action, the $1,050 Grand recently saw Jans Arends, of Austria, come out on top for $22,397. The event produced 120 players for a $118,700 prize pool. Beyond his online winnings, Arends also has $522,144 in live tournament winnings.

Earlier in November, Brazil’s Rodrigo Seiji also grabbed a Grand title for $23,495. He topped a field of 103 final phase players that created a $104,055 prize pool. Seiji also has more than $900,000 in live tournament winnings.

Next up at the site is the PartyPoker Players Championship Winter Edition, running Dec. 25 – Jan. 17. The festival features a $530 Main Event with $500,000 guaranteed. Online qualifiers are already underway and for a complete preview, click here.

Spanish Poker Pro, YouTube Vlogger Lucia Navarro Signs as 888poker’s Latest Ambassador

888poker continues adding to the site’s ambassador roster and announced the signing of Spanish poker pro Lucia Navarro on Tuesday.

888poker continues adding to the site’s ambassador roster and announced the signing of Spanish poker pro Lucia Navarro on Tuesday.

Originally from Alicante, Spain, Navarro has traveled the world playing poker and loves the game. Much of her career has focused on online poker and she also vlogs about her poker adventures on YouTube.

Her new role with 888 should be part of those media efforts now as well.

“I am super excited and grateful to be part of a strong and diverse team of ambassadors at 888poker,” she said in a news release “The brand is dedicated to player enjoyment and satisfaction, which are some of the reasons I decided to wear the 888poker patch.”

Navarro’s journey to poker success

Even from an early age, poker and card games in general were a major part of Navarro’s life. Family members remember the youngster chasing anyone down she could to play.

That eventually led to launching a professional poker career in her home country in 2013. Navarro, who later moved to Portugal, focused mainly on online cash games. She also played live cash and tournaments at the local Casino Mediterraneo.

A year later, Navarro won her first major tournament, collecting $22,000 at a CNP Valencia main event. In 2015, she moved to London “to take advantage of the juicy live cash games at the Victoria Casino,” 888poker’s announcement of the signing notes.

More tournament play also followed, including a repeat main event title at CNP Alicante in 2019 for $35,000. The win came while on a visit back to her hometown to visit family and friends.

Navarro is the only woman on the Spanish national poker circuit to hold two major titles.

Joining the 888 team

As a member of the team, Navarro will join plenty of online action at 888poker. She also may be on the road as well for 888 live events.
