888poker LIVE continues its resurgence and announced another major stop in Spain on Monday. The 888poker Live Festival Barcelona runs May 12-23, highlighted by the €1,100 Main Event running May 19-23.

As part of the action, all 888 ambassadors and Twitch streamers will be on site. The company is also inviting some special guests to play including Dan “Jungle Man” Cates, Maria Ho, and Michael Mizrachi.

888poker is bringing more special events to the series as the company celebrates is 20th anniversary. The site is also planning numerous opportunities for online players to qualify for the live series.

Highlights from 888poker Live Barcelona

The €1,100 Main Event allows players to get in on the action for pennies via online satellites and qualifiers. Direct registration for a satellite is also available for $109.

Qualifier winners score a $2,200 package to 888poker LIVE Barcelona. The package includes:

The KO action is coming to 888poker, complete with a professional boxer mixing it up at the tournament tables. The Knockout Games Series runs April 24 – May 8 with a wide range of buy-ins for every bankroll level and more than $1 million guaranteed.

The highlight of the series is the $215 Main Event on May 8 with a $300,000 guarantee. 888poker ambassador and middleweight boxing champion Chris Eubank Jr. will also play in the $160 Tune-Up PKO on May 1.

The tournament includes a $150,000 and the boxer will stream the tournament live on the 888 Twitch channel.

Highlights from the 888poker KO series

The Knockout Games Series promises players 44 events with buy-ins ranging from $11 to $215. The festival is one of 888’s biggest festivals of the year so far and features plenty of bounty fun.

A $109 PKO Opener gets things started on the first day with a $125,000 guarantee.

As  888poker celebrates its 20-year anniversary, some big tournament action is coming to the site again. The Retro Week series runs from March 20-27 with 25 events and more than $888,000 in total guaranteed prize pools.

Highlights from 888poker Retro Week 

The series offers a wide variety of events and buy-ins. Price points range from $11 to $525 with all events in No Limit Hold’em format.

888 is boasting several “Fish ‘n Chips Tournaments” featuring “small buy-ins, high guarantees, and a whole lot of fun.” All these events have fun fish-themed names as the category implies.

The $33 Big Fish is one of those and kicks off the series with a $25,000 guarantee. On March 25, players can check out the $33 Big Fish PKO with a $20,000 guarantee.

PKO stands for progressive knockout. In this type of bounty tournament, when a player knocks out an opponent, a portion of that player’s bounty is placed on the winner’s head.

This makes a player’s total bounty increase throughout the series. The further a player advances, the bigger his bounty gets and the bigger bounties he can win from others.

Another nice tournament comes on the series’ closing day, March 27. Those who may be priced out of the Main Event may want to check out the alternative version, the $33 Mini Mega Deep with $50,000 guaranteed.

High Roller action and mid-tier events

Beyond the “Fish ‘n Chips” platter, there is also plenty of action for players with bigger bankrolls. The $525 Whale gets underway on the first day of the series with $50,000 guaranteed.

The $109 Hurricane PKO also comes with a $20,000 guarantee and kicks off on March 24. Another $525 Whale event closes out the series on March 27 with a $50,000 guarantee.

The $215 Mega Deep Main Event closes out the series on March 27 with a big guarantee, large starting chip stacks, and slow-rising blind levels.

Those players in the mid-tier bankroll range will also find numerous tournaments to check out.  The $109 Friday Challenge KO guarantees a $30,000 prize pool on March 25 and should attract a nice player pool.

Daily Challenge Tournaments, March freerolls

Beyond those events, players can check out the weekly Sunday Challenge tournaments, adding something extra to poker’s biggest day of the week. The $109 Sunday Challenge on the series’ opening day comes with a $100,000 guarantee.

In other news, the 888poker Live Weekend London headed to Grosvenor’s The Vic casino in mid-February. 888 ambassador and boxing champion Chris Eubank Jr. hosted much of the action.

The £444 Main Event highlighted the weekend and brought in 602 entries for a £240,800 prize pool. In the end, London’s Joe Hindry scored the win and a £60,000 payday.

In another major event, the Chris Eubank Jr. Knockout Challenge saw online qualifiers, site ambassadors, and 888 StreamTeam members compete for a £10,000 bounty on Eubank and a share of the £10,000 prize pool.

Salvatore Sciarotta knocked out Eubank and went on to finish runner-up to StreamTeam member David Gibson. However, Gibson came on top for the win in the Eubank event.

Major tournament action returns to 888poker beginning in February as the site celebrates its 20th anniversary. The Millions Superstorm returns Feb. 13 to March 8 with $2 million guaranteed.

Players will find plenty of lower buy-in events with several multi-flight tournaments as part of the action. Poker fans can also expect some of the final table action to be streamed online.

Beyond the championship event, players can expect some other major guarantees throughout the festival. For example, a $109 tournament kicks off the series on Feb. 13 with a $200,000 guarantee.

This event offers an example of what to expect from the 2022 Millions SuperStorm. Each week features a few major events with starting flights running daily. Day 2 of each event then plays out on Sunday.

The second week of action also sees some nice guarantees as well. A $215 event comes with a $250,000 guarantee.

Along with the main schedule, 888 will host a $55 Daily Millions PKO event throughout the series with a $15,000 guarantee.

PKO stands for “progressive knockout” and these events have become extremely popular with online poker players in recent years.

In a PKO, players don’t receive the entire bounty of a player he knocks out. Instead the winner receives a portion of that with the other portion placed on his own head.

Streaming the action

As in past series, 888 is once again offering poker fans around the world the chance to check out the action. 888pokerTV, the site’s official Twitch channel, will stream final tables of three big events. Here’s a look at what to expect from the streaming action:

• Feb. 28 – Event 2, $50,000 guaranteed

The SuperStorm isn’t the only event players have to look forward to. The second edition of 888poker Live Weekend runs from Feb. 17-20 in London.

The XL Winter Series returns to 888poker in January with more than $1.5 million guaranteed. The operator promises some new twists with the series running Jan. 16-31.

Players will find buy-ins ranging from $16.50 to $55 for most events with a total of 44 events on the schedule. The $250 Main Event highlights the series on the final day of action and comes with a $500,000 guarantee.

888poker Winter Series highlights

Beyond the Main Event, plenty of other events stand out on the schedule. The $55 Opening Event kicks off the series and comes with a $100,000 guarantee.
