Partypoker Offers $60K in Weekly Legends Tournament Tickets; KO Series Also in the Works

The partypoker Legend of the Week pats out $60,000 in tournament tickets each week.

Want to be a legend? Partypoker is now making it easier to reach that status as part of the site’s Daily Legends tournaments.

As part of the promotion, players compete to become a Legend of the Week. Prizes for winners amount to $60,000 in tournament tickets each week.

The Legends events offer something extra for those hitting the tables regularly at partypoker. The new weekly revamp builds on the program even more.

“Since launch, Daily Legends have been growing in popularity among multi-table tournament players,” partypoker marketing director Vadim Soloveychik said, “and we are happy to give players yet another reason to play them.”

How to become a partypoker legend and win some cash

Throughout December, partypoker will run five weekly Legend of the Week leaderboards, Monday through Saturday. Points can be earned from two tournaments in each leaderboard category per day.

The top 100 finishers in each leaderboard earn prizes. Here’s a look at all the leaderboard levels with buy-ins and top prizes.

Leaderboard 1 – $2.20

Players in this category can earn points from the Double Jab and Deuce. The weekly winner receives two $150 Daily Legends tickets, a $111 One Shot ticket, and a $55 Gladiator ticket.

Leaderboard 2 – $5.50

Players earn points for the Headhunter and Five Diamond. The top prize is three $150 Daily Legends tickets, a $215 Warrior ticket, and a $111 One Shot ticket.

Leaderboard 3 – $11

Points from for the Terminator and Ocean’s will count toward these standings. The winner earns three $150 Daily Legends tickets, a $320 ticket for The 300, and a $215 Warrior ticket.

Leaderboard 4 – $22

Competitors win points from buy-ins for the Predator and Clásico. The top player wins three $150 Daily Legends tickets, a $530 Tuesday 500 ticket, and a $530 Thursday 500 ticket.

Leaderboard 5 – $55

The prizes are ramped up even more for players at this level. Entries in the Gladiator and Masters earn points and include:

  • a $1,111 High Roller One Shot ticket
  • a $530 Tuesday 500 ticket
  • a $530 Thursday 500 ticket
  • a $320 ticket for The 300
  • a $215 Deepstack ticket

All Daily Legends tournaments give players a better chance of finishing in the money. Only one re-entry is allowed per player.

These events also make use of limited late registration. Partypoker officials believe the promotion works out well for players of all levels.

“In the spirit of Daily Legends, only two tournaments will count daily at each level, so even low-volume players have a fair chance of finishing in the money,” Soloveychik said.

More in store with KO Series coming soon

A schedule should be released soon and fans of bounty events have a lot to look forward to. The partypoker KO Series is set for Dec. 25 to Jan. 19.

The last KO Series last ran in February with 230 tournaments and $10 million guaranteed. Buy-ins range from $2.20 to $2,100 with nine Main Events featuring a combined $2.7 million in guarantees.

MONEY MADNESS: Partypoker MILLIONS Online Returns for 2021 with $5 Million Main Event

The partypoker MILLIONS Online series returns in February 2021.

A live partypoker MILLIONS may not be currently possible, but players can still get in the action in February. The site announced this week that the MILLIONS Online returns next year with a $5 million guaranteed prize pool.

The fourth edition of the online version may warm the heart – kicking off on Valentine’s Day, Feb. 14. Players should love the opportunity to get in two starting slights in the $5,300 Main Event. The first flight is set for Feb. 14 and the second for Feb. 21.

With most major live poker tournaments shut down, the online poker boom continues around the world. Operators like partypoker continue working to meet demand and MILLIONS should help fit the bill.

Some partypoker MILLIONS details

A full schedule isn’t available yet. However, partypoker has offered some insight on the Main Event.

The site will continue its trend of limited re-entry – only one per starting flight in this case.

That’s meant to make the series more like a live tournament and appeal to more recreational players. Here’s a look at the Main Event schedule:

Partypoker MILLIONS satellite plans

For much of 2020, partypoker has stressed reaching poker players of all levels and bankrolls. That looks to continue in 2021 and begins with the latest MILLIONS Online.

Satellite events for the series have already begun. The site will award at least 10 Main Event seats every Sunday. Players will also find phase tournaments running daily.

Players can qualify for as little as $0.01 – with these “centrolls” running throughout the weeks preceding the series. These qualifiers run daily and award $5.50 tickets for Phase 1 tournaments. Players who advance through 18 levels then progress to Phase 2.

This phase comes with a $55 entry fee (for those who don’t qualify in Phase 1) and those lasting 22 levels qualify for the weekly final. Each final awards at least 10 Main Event seats.

Boosted Daily Legends continue in December

The popular Boosted Daily Legends promotion returns at partypoker through Dec. 20 – this time as a satellite edition. These events allow players to turn a small investment into possibly a massive prize.

Each player receives a random prize after a Daily Legends satellite. Prizes include $1,000 Daily Freeroll tickets, Daily Legends tickets, and satellite tickets worth up to $109.

Players can win up to four tickets every day. The four buy-in levels for the Boosted Daily Legends: Satellite Edition are:

  • Level 1: $0.11 to $0.99
  • Level 2: $1 to $5.49
  • Level 3: $5.50 to $21.99
  • Level 4: $22 and over

In December, it pays to play satellites – not just for a shot at a potentially bigger score. Those freebies can add up as well.

Diego Ventura crushes Caribbean Poker Party Main Event – start to finish

The Irish Poker Masters is just beginning, but the Caribbean Poker Party Online just finished. The series ran from Nov. 13-25 with a $10 million guaranteed prize pool and 10 events with mini and micro versions.

The series produced a couple of unique stories including in the Main Event. It’s rare for a poker player to lead a tournament from start to finish, butr Peru’s Diego Ventura did just that.

He finished Day 1B of the event not only as the flight’s chip leader, but as the player to catch overall. That run continued on Days 2 and 3 before he started a star-studded final table as the leader.

The $5,300 tournament featured a $5 million guarantee and a trophy to the champion. Ultimately, Ventura’s big run ended with the title and the $879,894 top prize.

Player turns penny into five figures

Beyond Ventura, another player also scored big with a significantly smaller buy-in. Partypoker regularly offers qualifiers starting at just €0.01. Players can take a shot in these and hopefully work their way up to a tournament ticket.

Ukraine’s Yevhenii Dushko did just that. He turned a penny into a Main Event entry and went on to finish 55th. That turned into a payday of $19,184. Simply turning one cent into a Main Event seat was quite an accomplishment – and cashing is even bigger.

“I got lucky during Day 1A when I had a set of Aces over a set of eights and that helped build a stack and progress to Day 2,” he told partypoker. “I felt I played quite well despite the obviously different level of skill compared to my usual limits; there were a lot of strong players.”

The payout is about 40 times the average monthly salary for someone in the Ukraine. So far, Dushko isn’t sure how he’ll use the cash.

“I haven’t even thought about any big purchases to be honest,” he said. “I know that I have to keep my head cool after winning this big prize. The money will help my life for sure, but I feel like I don’t have to do anything spontaneous.

“It also will help me continue growing as a poker player. I am grateful that my friends and family treat my love of poker with respect and without the stereotypes about gambling. This support was very important to me.”

TEAMING UP: Partypoker Expands 2021 WPT Online Schedule, Live Events in Russia

With major live tournament events still on hold, partypoker affirmed its continued partnership with the World Poker Tour on Monday. The two companies plan even more in 2021 with several online festivals already in the works.

Beyond that, the companies are teaming up for two live events as well. WPT Russia will run Feb. 19-28, with the partypoker LIVE event held at Casino Sochi. Online satellites are already underway.

The WPT and partypoker already partnered on live events before the Coronavirus pandemic. That now has expanded even further with co-branded online series.

“Despite ongoing uncertainly with regards to live events, we can promise players a schedule packed full of WPT festivals in 2021,” partypoker managing director Tom Waters said. “We are looking forward to working with the WPT team to produce schedules of the highest quality, both live and online.”

Plenty of online partypoker/WPT events to look forward to

The COVID-19 pandemic led to the postponement of numerous WPT events and more live events could be moving online. This means even more action for players in the international online poker market.

To begin the year, the WPT Montreal Online will replace the normal live series and is set to begin Jan. 10. A $2 million guaranteed Main Event is planned with satellites already available starting at $0.01.

The WPT Online Series returns to the partypoker schedule in May and World Online Championships is also back in September.

Both series debuted in 2020 and found success. The Online Series paid out more than $52 million with the three flagship events all topping the guarantees.

The World Online Championships ran from July to September earlier this year and became partypoker’s biggest series ever. That festival paid out more than $100 million

Partypoker worked to appeal to players of all bankrolls and awarded 45,000 seats via satellites. In the $10,300 Main Event, seven of nine players at the final table qualified via satellites.

Those aren’t the only WPT plans at partypoker. The WPT500 Online joins the schedule in March and the WPTDeepStacks Online debuts in July.

Like the other events, these festivals are designed to replicate the format of a live series. That includes condensing events into a shorter schedule.

Partypoker bringing back WPT live poker to Russia and beyond

It should be a big year for WPT fans online at partypoker, but a couple live events have also been announced. WPT Russia is just the first of two live events on the schedule, with WPTDeepStacks Russia also planned for July.

Players can qualify for the $3,300 WPT Russia Main Event with a buy-in for as little as ₽3 (Russian rubles, equivalent to $0.04). There are four phases of daily satellites each week, feeding into a weekly final.

Satellite buy-ins are restricted to a maximum of ₽3,300/$43, allowing smaller bankroll players the chance to win. Winners earn a ₽300,000/$3,925 ticket and travel package to play the Main Event.

“Casino Sochi is delighted to host the WPT Russia festival again after its success in 2020,” the property’s director of poker Artur Voskanyan said.

“The casino has been thriving in the last few months, setting multiple poker records in the process, and we are sure hosting this WPT event during the winter snow season will be a roaring success.”

Russia will introduce an electronic visa border process in 2021, Voskanyan added. This is expected to make it easier for international travelers to visit the country and play in these events.

“As was the case in 2020, extensive satellite programs will be in place for all our events and it’s great to see such high entry numbers for the online satellites that are currently running for WPT Russia at Casino Sochi and the online edition of WPT Montreal,” Waters added.

“There were so many life-changing stories in 2020, and we are hopeful that 2021 will deliver even more.”

Numerous partypoker series roll on

These announcements are just the latest for partypoker. Like other online operators, the site has offered numerous festivals as prize and players pools continue to soar.

The Caribbean Poker Party is already underway and runs through Nov. 25. That series features 10 championship events and $10 million guaranteed.

The Irish Poker Masters has also been moved online this year. The series kicks off Dec. 6 and the €1,100 Main Event brings a €1 million guarantee The site also wraps up the €1 million Monster Series today.

Beyond online events, Partypoker LIVE and WPT plan to grow their live event offerings around the globe in 2021.

BIG DEAL: Partypoker Brings Together Poker, Esports for Major Streaming Event

Partypoker's Big Deal brings together players from the world of poker and esports.

It’s no secret that Twitch has become a major part of the online poker world. Poker operators have also made efforts at reaching the growing number of esports players.

On Saturday, partypoker offers a unique event featuring both. Famous faces from the worlds of poker and gaming square off in The Big Deal. The 48-player invitational freeroll features a $50,000 prize pool.

During the event players will be streaming the action to their own unique audiences. The goal is to reach more Twitch viewers and esports players who might be interested in poker. Party officials hope to continue the effort with other events, including the upcoming Caribbean Poker Party.

“This is an experiment for us, and we are essentially exposing our brand to a wider audience, while also bringing an exciting new concept for our current players to watch and enjoy,” partypoker marketing director Vadim Soloveychik told PokerScout.

“Additionally, we want to showcase our streaming capabilities, as we have done with previous well-developed series on partypokertv; most notably the WPT World Online Championships earlier this year.”

Massive online poker streaming experience

Twitch allows operators to spotlight events during major tournament series. Along with some big poker and streaming fun, partypoker has more plans.

The company is hoping to break the record for the number of concurrent viewers for a poker stream. Some of the players involved include:

  • Jeff Gross – partypoker Twitch team
  • Matt Staples – partypoker Twitch team
  • Benjamin Rolle – RaiseYourEdge poker trainer
  • Jaime Staples – poker pro
  • Troels “SyndereN” Nielsen and Ted J. Forsyth (aka “Pyrion Flax“) – Dota 2 players
  • Jeffrey “SjoW” Brusi – a former professional poker player who later became known for his StarCraft II skills
  • Quill18” – a strategy game streamer

Big Deal shows how important Twitch can be to bring more players into the game. Educating others via the platform is a major aspect of the event.

Twitch is the leading gaming content platform, so it’s very important for us,” Soloveychik said. “It’s a platform that has been used by us for many tournaments in the past and several Team partypoker pros use Twitch to stream their content.

“We expect to continue to use Twitch so long as we feel it is a great platform for our content.”

Showing off the partypoker platform, adding some new wrinkles

During the freeroll action, streamers will discuss their play with viewers on their own channels. Players will have an added incentive to eliminate opponents, with a unique twist to a traditional tournament.

All players must be knocked out three times before they exit the tournament. The player making the elimination then “raids” the other player’s viewers. Raids help streamers send viewers to another channel at the end of their stream.

Poker streamer Jeff Gross will be among those participating in partypoker’s “Big Deal.” (photo courtesy WPT/Joe Giron)

This is a unique feature for this event to allow the poker action to continue longer,” Soloveychik said. “We have experimented with the format to tailor our content specifically to the Twitch audience.

“Things like three knockouts and raiding audiences as a bounty are among a number of things we would like to test out with Twitch. This is a show for Twitch viewers first and foremost, so we hope they will like it.”

Esports production company Beyond the Summit will provide hero content for partypokerTV throughout the tournament. This includes feature tables with notable players as well as highlights from others.

The company has gone the extra mile to make it a special event. Viewers will see cards-up coverage and the final table will be streamed live.

Poker pro and commentator Maria Ho, along with poker streamer Joey Ingram, will provide commentary.

“We are excited to host The Big Deal,” Soloveychik added. “I’m sure it will be fun to watch.”

FUN FIESTA: Partypoker Unveils Caribbean Poker Party Schedule

The partypoker Caribbean Poker Party kicks off on Friday.

The inaugural Caribbean Poker Party Online kicks off in just a few days and partypoker has now released the full schedule. The series runs Nov. 13-25 with a $10 million guaranteed prize pool.

Players will find a total of 10 events with mini and micro versions of some tournament also in the mix. The Opener, a $1,050 progressive knockout (PKO) event, gets the series started Friday with a $500,000 guarantee.

“The Caribbean Poker Party is one of my favorite stops of the year,” Team partypoker’s Kristen Bicknell said in a news release.

“Being able to play in it online with real names is the next best thing to going there. I’m looking forward to the Main Event and hopefully getting that trophy. With all the satellite opportunities, I’m sure it’s going to have a great turnout and be a highlight event of the year.”

A look at the partypoker Main Event

The white sands and cool Caribbean waters may be missing, but there is plenty to play for in November. The $5,300 Main Event runs throughout the series, with Day 1A on Nov. 15 and 1B on Nov. 22.

Three more days of action then follow Day 1B to play to a winner. The Main Event comes with a $5 million guarantee and a trophy will also be awarded to the champion.

Players will have plenty of opportunities to qualify for the Main Event. Satellites are already running daily, feeding into two weekly mega satellite Sunday finals.

Players can buy into satellites for as little as $0.01, with the satellite finals on Nov. 15 and 22. Entries to the finals are worth $530 and 50 Main Event seats will be awarded in both finals.

Mini and micro versions also run on the same day as the Main Event itself. The $530 Mini Main Event comes with a $500,000 guarantee. The $55 Micro Main Event includes a $150,000 guarantee.

Other Caribbean Poker Party highlights

Plenty of action remains beyond the main events. Along with No Limit Hold’em during the series, players will also find some Pot Limit Omaha action as well.

“We’ve tried to put together a schedule for all bankrolls here and we have still managed to offer a great overall guarantee,” partypoker LIVE President John Duthie said. “Enjoy the series.”

The $25,500 Super High Roller is another major highlight. That tournament features a $2 million guarantee and is set for Nov. 17 and 18. The event should bring out some of the game’s players in the nosebleed stakes.

Throughout the festival, satellites are available on the day of each event for all tournaments on the schedule. That and the micro and mini offers should appeal to a wide variety of players. Just a few of the other series highlights include:

  • $1,050 Knockout (Event 3, Nov. 16) – $200,000 guarantee
  • $1,050 Heads-Up NLHE (Event 5, Nov. 18) – $100,000 guarantee
  • $320 Mini Pot Limit Omaha (Event 6, Nov. 10) – $30,000 guarantee
  • $1,050 Warm Up (Event 7, Nov. 20) – $500,000 guarantee

The Caribbean Poker Party wraps up with The Closer – a one-day PKO event on the final day of the series. The $530 buy-in tournament comes with a $150,000 guarantee. Here’s a look at the complete schedule:

OH, CANADA: Partypoker, World Poker Tour Join Forces for WPT Montreal Online

the WPT Montreal moves online to partypoker.

The partnership between World Poker Tour and partypoker continues with the WPT Montreal now heading online in January. While a complete schedule hasn’t been released yet, the $3,200 championship features $2 million guarantee.

The two starting flights for that event are set to kick off Jan. 10 and 17. WPT Montreal Online now replaces the annual live series at Playground Poker Club in Kahnawake, Quebec, Canada.

“The World Poker Tour and partypoker continue their thriving partnership into 2021 as we look forward to crowning another WPT champion online,” WPT CEO Adam Pliska said in a news release. “Players around the globe have shown their support of WPT Online and the continued prestige on display at our final tables.”

Shifting the Montreal poker action online

Montreal has been a regular stop for the WPT since 2012. Several major names have won titles including former WPT commentator Mike Sexton, Seth Davies, and Ema Zajmovic, the first WPT Main Event open champion.

Geoffrey Hum won the live championship in 2019 for $380,648. Zajmovic also almost made it back-to-back titles in 2018, finishing runner-up for $424,893.

Patrick Serda took that title for $668,388 and many may remember his amazing call to finish off Zajmovic.

The Playground Club closed on Oct. 4 after the Kahnawake COVID-19 Task Force raised the pandemic status from orange to red. The Canadian government has also restricted travel from the US, keeping any possible American poker players away.

The series now moves online offering players around the world a chance at some WPT glory. The Montreal event also marks the seventh WPT champion to be crowned on partypoker in Season XVIII.

As in a live event, the winner of WPT Montreal Online receives:

  • a seat in the WPT Tournament of Champions presented by Baccarat Crystal
  • his or her name inscribed on the Mike Sexton WPT Champions Cup
  • membership in the WPT Champions Club

Qualifiers for the event are already underway and start at $.01. A full schedule is expected to be released soon.

“I can’t tell you how excited I am about WPT Montreal being played out on partypoker,” partypoker LIVE president John Duthie said. “Playground is one of my favourite places to play on the globe and the players there are just such a great community.

“As the scene of his famous WPT victory, it was also one of Mike Sexton’s favorite stops on the tour; he’ll be with us all in spirit I’m sure.”

Series adds to a growing WPT presence online at partypoker

With WPT Montreal Online, players can expect a similar experience to the recent WPT Online Series and WPT World Online Championships. For those series, partypoker made use of:

  • real names at final tables
  • limited re-entries
  • numerous opportunities to qualify

The two series focused on getting players into the action, no matter the bankroll. That is expected to continue with the Montreal series.

The WPT Online World Championships were held in August and September, awarding $101 million. The series also gave out 45,000 tournament seats via qualifiers.

The WPT Online Series was held in April and May with $52 million paid out. The tour has incorporated its main brand as well as WPTDeepStacks and WPT500 in some of these series.

The operator’s partypoker US Network arm has also partnered with WPT for online events in New Jersey. These efforts now continue with WPT Montreal and the festival’s popularity in Canada should help.

Players from Toronto to Vancouver can still get in on the action via partypoker. Like these other recent events, poker fans should expect plenty of streaming coverage via the WPT Twitch channel.

“Another exceptional event for players comes to partypoker this January,” WPT Europe Vice President Hermance Blum said. “The proven success of limited re-entries and real names carries over to WPT Montreal Online and we are excited to be partnering once more with partypoker.”

NO SUNSCREEN NEEDED: Partypoker Caribbean Party Moves Online With $10 Million Guaranteed

The partypoker Caribbean Adventure is set for Nov. 15-25 and features 10 events with an overall guarantee of more than $10 million.

Those looking for some time at the beach and a nice tropical drink may have to break out their own blender this year. Partypoker’s Caribbean Poker Party is back in November – minus the trip to the Bahamas.

The site has announced final plans for this year’s series, which has been moved online for Nov. 15-25. The series features 10 events with an overall guarantee of more than $10 million.

“We’re obviously all bitterly disappointed that there’s not going to be a live version of the Caribbean Poker Party this year,” partypoker Live President John Duthie said, “but get your trunks and shades, put a bit of fake tan on, pour yourself a drink and join us all for the Caribbean Poker Party Online; mine’s a piña colada!”

Partypoker Caribbean Poker Party highlights

The Caribbean Poker Party has become a popular stop since partypoker Live debuted the festival in 2016.

Adrian Mateos won last year’s $10,300 Main Event for $1.1 million. This came after the Spanish poker superstar also clinched the $25,500 Super High Roller for $520,464.

This year, the online version of the Main Event has been reduced to $5,300 with a guaranteed $5 million. That price point should attract quite a field judging b other recent series.

Day 1A of the Main Event will take place on the first day of the festival, Nov. 15. Day 1B is then set for Nov. 22.

With those starting flights wrapped up, there will be three more days of action to reach a winner. Here’s a look at the Main Event schedule.

Plenty of satellites and promotions planned

The site is again hoping to offer players of all bankrolls an opportunity to get in the action. Players will find many ways to qualify for the Main Event, with an extensive satellite program already running.

Additionally, 10 players will win a seat for a maximum of only $55 each week. Party is also offering multiple entry points into phases, and players can try to qualify just a single cent. Satellites are already underway.

It is a big few months for partypoker, which is also running the Monster Series and Irish Poker Masters in November and December.
