Partypoker Live MILLIONS Europe Gets Underway, Several Extra Activities Planned for Players

Partypoker's MILLIONS Europe head to Casino Barcelona June 2-12 with several activities planned for players.

Players head to Casino Barcelona this week for partypoker’s MILLIONS Europe with the festival running June 2-12. The online action has already begun on the site with the online Day 1 of the €3,300 Main Event kicking off last Sunday

Live starting flights are now part of the series and Main Event satellites run before each flight. Beyond the play on the felt, partypoker is promising even more fun throughout the series away from the tables.

“Partypoker can now confirm a host of activities that will be running alongside the tournament schedule at La Taverna bar to add to the excitement when players are away from the tables,” the company noted in a statement.

Plenty of fun planned from partypoker

Partypoker is playing up the additional activities in this series. The company continues working to make live series appealing to a broad range of players, including offering some portions online.

The extracurricular fun in Barcelona starts by putting players’ musical knowledge to the test on June 3 in the “Blind Test.” Teams of players guess the title and artist of a selection of songs. The winning team earns a 30-minute jet ski experience.

Players who perform away from the table can take part in karaoke nights on June 5 and 9. Those brave enough to sing on stage gain access to a free open bar. Festivities continue on June 7 with a beer pong competition to win a jet ski experience.

On June 8, famous names from poker and beyond come together to play in a live-streamed Celebrity Sit & Go. Players appearing in the tournament include Team partypoker’s Carl Froch, Jeffrey “MaximusBlack” Johnston, and Matt Staples.

Party will confirm more players at a later date. Special packages for MILLIONS UK at Dusk Till Dawn, which is set for late November, will be up for grabs.

More activities planned including player party

The fun week continues with Poker Quiz Night on June 10. The top two finishers each receive a goodie bag with the winner claiming a jet ski experience.

Some celebration is in order on June 11 with the MILLIONS Europe Players’ Party. The get-together includes an open bar and a challenge where players can win a $1,000 seat for an upcoming partypoker LIVE event.

Deep house DJ Veronika Fleyta performs at the party. She’s played sets around the world at musical hotspots like Cova Santa Ibiza, Burning Man, AfrikaBurn, and more.

The partypoker LIVE Pop Up is also located close to the Casino Barcelona poker room throughout the series. Players are invited to beat the staff at giant versions of Connect 4 and Jenga. Prizes available include MILLIONS Europe merchandise as well as a range of tickets to future partypoker LIVE events.

Follow the action on Twitch

When the series gets underway on Thursday, poker fans from around the world can follow along. Partypoker’s official Twitch channel will live stream several tournaments in the series including the Main Event.

Commentator Henry Kilbane will be joined by Melissa Schubert, a Las Vegas-based player and a regular on the Only Friends poker podcast. Here is the full streaming schedule.

Poker Podium: A Look at Major Live & Online May Winners on the International Poker Scene

Several online poker operators recently held major live and tournament series, and here's a look at some of the big winners.

Several online poker operators recently held major live tournament series with online qualifiers also heading to the tables for some action. The international live poker scene has grown in recent months with poker sites leading the charge.

Barcelona, Madrid, and the United Kingdom all hosted major series throughout May. Poker Podium now takes a look at some recent live tournament winners as well as a few hitting it big online.

Partypoker

The partypoker Grand Prix UK recently concluded at Dusk Till Dawn, offering players plenty of options at the popular UK casino. The £150 Main Event was the major bullet point for players heading to the property, and saw 1,156 players for a £150,000 prize pool.

Andrew Balfe took down the event for £22,000, the biggest score of his career. Nestoras Kakoyannis finished runner-up for £14,275.

A couple of other players also recently scored big in the MILLIONS Online KO Edition, which runs through May 31. The $530 NLHE Eight-Max event saw 206 players for a $103,000 prize pool. Finland’s Mathias Siljander found the winner’s circle for $19,314. Malta’s Ricardo Silva placed second for $13,860.

The $215 NLHE Eight-Max also produced a nice prize pool with 575 playing for a share of $115,000. Brazil’s Andre Luis Berlanda came out as the champion for $18,606.

Partypoker also recently released more events planned for 2022. Here’s a look at the schedule.

PokerStars

The Spring Championship of Online Poker (SCOOP) continues through June 1 at PokerStars. As the action plays out, a few players stand out so far.

Dinesh “NastyMinder” Alt was recently one of the players grabbing a title. The Swiss player is a regular online pro and has scored numerous titles including World COOP, Turbo COOP, Bounty Builder High Roller, and a Sunday Million.

After so much success, Alt now has not one, but two SCOOP titles to add to that string of wins. He first won a $109 SCOOP Sunday Kickoff for $44,887

Alt then turned a $109 Phase entry into an entry into the $5,000 Titans PKO, then winning the event for $230,145. That total included an impressive $157,285 in bounties.

“It felt awesome, especially these high roller tournaments with tough fields, there are so many people I know and respect as very good players, it was definitely awesome,” he told the Stars blog after the Titans win.

“The previous one was a smaller buy-in with more luck involved as the fields are so big and the variance is higher but in the high rollers, it’s more about skill and less variance in the smaller fields.

In other action, PokerStars ambassador Fintan “easywithaces” Hand scored his third SCOOP title in three years. He took down the $2,000 Sunday Warm-Up for $119,046 including $71,820 in bounties. Hand enjoyed quite a celebration after the win:

888poker

The 888poker Live Barcelona series wrapped up on May 23. Poker pros Maria Ho and Dan “Jungleman” Cates made the trip to Spain for the action along with the site’s ambassadors and the 888poker StreamTeam.

Cates made the trip worthwhile, winning the €5,300 Super High Roller for €33,000. In the €2,200 High Roller, Ireland’s James Crawley took the title for €38.000. The UK’s Warren Aspey finished runner-up for €24.000 in a tournament that attracted 63 entries.

The €1,100 Main Event highlighted the series and featured four starting flights. The action included 334 entries for a €320,640 prize pool.

The final table saw five of the nine players hailing from the host country as well as players from the UK, Finland, Italy, and France. In the end, Italy’s Sandro Hauser came out on top for €56,800.

Spain’s Alexandre Ventura Bolet finished runner-up €41,400 after a deal was reached among the top three.

GGPoker, Triton Poker

The Online Poker Championship is underway at GGPoker, running through June 1 with $150 million guaranteed. The company has also partnered with Triton Poker for the tour’s recent Madrid series.

GG offered players online qualifiers for events and some big names have once again made some news. That has included Tom Dwan, who scored two titles in three days. He won the €30,000 Short Deck Turbo and €25,000 Pot Limit Omaha for a total of €626,000.

Australia’s Michael Addamo also has two titles, winning the opening $20,000 NLHE for €478,000 and a €75,000 NLHE event for €1.2 million. Stephen Chidwick and Jason Koon also drvured titles in the series, which wrapped up on Wednesday.

MASH-UP: Partypoker Finding Success With Hybrid Live-Online Concept; Players Pleased Too

Partypoker launched the live-online hybrid tournament model in February and has seen some success with the series proving popular with players and venues.

The poker world has seen plenty of changes over the last year. Live poker is now returning after a major online poker boom and partypoker has worked to offer some unique options for both fans of live and online play.

The operator’s live-online hybrid model launched in February with the Grand Prix UK at Dusk Till Dawn casino. These types of series offer plenty of action online mixed with some nice live play as well.

The festivals also offer both live and online qualifiers for championship events. So far, partypoker seems to be finding some success with the unique format.

“With the way we’ve seen the world change across the last two years, we felt that was the right time to give players the perfect mix of both the online and live felts,” head of live events Dan Rose told PokerScout. “By running online events, followed by a live schedule, players can have the flexibility to play in the right format that suits them.”

Players pleased with partypoker efforts

After that first series, the company also launched the partypoker Championship brand. That saw a Malta hybrid in March/April and partypoker Championship UK in April/May. Party also sponsored this year’s Irish Open.

The hybrid concept carried over to these series as well with online-only events before finishing at the live venue. So far, Rose says the model has received high marks from players.

“The response from players has been overwhelmingly positive,” he says. “We are offering them the chance to suit events around their schedule, as opposed to the other way around.”

The operator has worked to make sure players know what kind of event they are getting into. There has been some need to educate players about how the hybrid series work. The goal is to avoid player confusion in the process.

“The only challenges have been ensuring players fully understand this new format and arranging the moving parts so that they’re lined up across the online and live felts,” Rose says. “We rectified any initial confusion by adding filters in the lobby for ‘online only’ and ‘live events.’ We also added more obvious labeling and signifiers on the schedules on the partypoker LIVE website, and Jaime Staples provided players with an explainer video.

“Again, the feedback from players has been very encouraging and I think we’re learning how to make these events even better as we gain experience in running them.”

Casino partners like added promotion, events

Some may see adding online events to a live series might as a drawback for casino partners. However, Rose notes that venues are pleased to see even more focus on their festivals. The online events don’t really take away from the live series, but simply offer something more.

“Our casino partners have been as excited as we have about hosting these series,” he says. “From their side, it’s a great opportunity to market and promote their venue, and they can host our events without having to set aside up to 12 days on their schedule, which in these times can still be quite tricky for a lot of venues due to capacity and staffing.”

Venues don’t have to set aside as much time to host the series. Some uniqueness also comes to the play on the online felt in these online-live series. Party tries to make the online section of the schedule as close to live play as possible including:

  • using real names
  • similar events to the live schedule
  • mini versions of larger live events
  • use of the same brands

Additionally, the online portion of these festivals also reaches a larger group of players who might not be able to afford larger live events. For example, the Grand Prix UK series included numerous $11 and $22 tournaments.

https://www.pokerscout.com/online-live-hybrid-series-heads-to-partypoker-dusk-till-dawn-with-grand-prix-uk/

As in most online series, the site also offered numerous bargain-priced satellites. Qualifiers started at just a penny, giving players a shot at a much bigger live tournament after earning a seat.

Are more hybrid series in the works?

With players and casinos pleased with the hybrid concept, it seems even more are coming. Party recently outlined several series planned for 2022 and online portions are also included in several.

“We’re very happy with how these events have played out so far, and going forward, we will continue to assess our options in this area,” Rose says. “What I can say for now is that while we will continue to run our flagship MILLIONS brand as separate online and live series, partypoker Championship series will continue using the online-live format and structu

Overall, Rose believes the concept has been a nice addition and there are many positives for players.

“This is the first time we’ve been able to offer players the opportunity to play in prestigious live series both from home and in person,” he says.

“Less travel, fewer expenses, but the same amount of fun and chances to win at the tables. It’s a win-win for players who love both formats.”

Live poker has seen a rebirth and partypoker continues working to cater to players of all interests and bankrolls. The company announced several events on Thursday with both live and online events playing a major role.

This site already introduced several online-live hybrid series over the last several months. That format has included the Grand Prix UK, Irish Open, partypoker Championship Malta, and partypoker Championship UK.

The company announced even more series on the horizon Thursday including further Grand Prix and MILLIONS events. All give players the chance to enter the series in the environment that best fits their schedule.

“It has been immensely enjoyable to provide players with chances to play in the ideal environment for them this year, and with many more events to come, there should be no shortage of fun for partypoker players for the rest of this year,” partypoker head of poker room management Chris Donnachie said in a news release.

“We want to offer all types of series to suit all types of players, and I look forward to welcoming partypoker players across several festivals going forward.”

However, online starting flights are also planned for May 15 and 16. The second and final day of the Main Event is then set for May 22 on the last day of the series.

More MILLIONS series coming soon

Partypoker LIVE’s premium brand returns soon to Spain and new United Kingdom and online versions are also ahead. MILLIONS Europe heads to Casino Barcelona June 2-12.

Online players aren’t left out of the MILLIONS action either. The first MILLIONS Online KO Edition is currently running through May 31.

A special feature of the festival is a schedule made up entirely of progressive knockout (PKO) events. That’s a first for a MILLIONS series. The $1,050 Main Event guarantees $1 million and players can still enter the satellite tree for $0.01.

Another MILLIONS Online KO Edition is also in the works, running Sept. 4-27. This is also highlighted by a The $1,050 Main Event guarantees $1 million

WCOAP gets back in action

The World Championship of Amateur Poker (WCOAP) makes a comeback this year at Dusk Till Dawn in June. The series is held in association with the Amateur Poker Association and Tour.

This is the first live WCOAP at the property since 2013 and the series runs June 29 – July 3.

“Offering a fun, friendly and sociable atmosphere, this will be the perfect chance for amateur players to enjoy a moment in the spotlight,” partypoker notes of the festival.

Freezeouts with sensible finishing times are planned for the series as well as:

  • team events
  • tag teams
  • heads-up tournaments

The £150 Main Event includes three starting flights and players can buy into events via partypoker holding tanks, LuxonPay, and at the Dusk Till Dawn cash desk. An online leg is expected to be part of the series, but those details haven’t been determined yet.

Look for more Partypoker Championship series

The partypoker Championship brand launched earlier this year, focusing on affordability for players of all bankrolls. The live series offer comprehensive qualification plans online as well as fun events like player parties and memorable on-site experiences.

KO Action Lands a Punch With Partypoker MILLIONS; Live Series Also Heads to Barcelona

The MILLIONS Online Knockout Edition heads to partypoker May 5-31 with major guarantees and a progressive knockout format for the first time.

The MILLIONS Online Knockout Edition heads to partypoker in May with major guarantees and a PKO (progressive knockout) format for the first time.

The series runs May 5-31 with bounty action across 71 events and buy-ins ranging from $109 to $1,050. That includes a $1,050 Main Event on May 8 with a $1 million guaranteed prize pool.

“We want to offer players the chance to play for coveted MILLIONS Online titles, while also providing all the extra cash opportunities you can find in a progressive knockout series,” partypoker director Vadim Soloveychik said in a news release.

“MILLIONS Online Knockout Edition will provide the perfect mix and with satellites from just $0.01, we look forward to seeing players of all bankrolls join in and try to become a MILLIONS Online champion.”

Along with the return of the online version, partypoker also announced that the live MILLIONS is also returning. The series returns to Barcelona, Spain, in June.

A look at the Main Event action

Those new to PKO events will find something a bit different than traditional bounty tournaments. Each player has a bounty on their head throughout the series.

However, those knocking out another player only bank a portion of that bounty in a PKO. The other portion is put on the winning player’s head, meaning larger bounties as the tournament progresses.

The three-day Main Event features six starting flights before Day 2 begins on May 30. Starting flights run every Sunday during the festival. The Main Event champion is crowned on the final day of the series and satellites start at just $0.01.

On top of the satellites, players can also win their way into the Main Event through MILLIONS Online SPINS. Players can buy in for $30 and play for a random prize ranging from $60 to a Main Event entry.

The $109 Mini Main Event runs alongside the Main Event with $500,000 guaranteed. Beyond the Main Events, those in the MILLIONS Online KO may want to check out the $162 Opener. This two-day tournament brings a $200,000 guarantee.

Other MILLIONS Online KO highlights

Among the other events to watch out for will be the two-day Weekender tournaments. These run on three consecutive weekends during the series with buy-ins ranging from $162 to $320.

Weekender guarantees also range from $200,000 to $250,000. partypoker’s last MILLIONS Online series ran in December 2021 with Ramiro Petrone taking down the Main Event for $859,019. Here’s a look at the complete series.

MILLIONS returns to live play in Barcelona

Along with the online series, partypoker also announced that the MILLIONS Live is back. The MILLIONS Live Europe series is set for June 2-12 at Casino Barcelona.

Just a stone’s throw from Mediterranean beaches in Port Olimpic, Casino Barcelona combines fine dining, live music, shows, and gaming all in one place.

“With poker, parties, sun, and sand in one of the most beautiful cities in Europe,” partypoker notes, “this will be the perfect setting for players to try to get their hands on some prizes.”

Partypoker hopes to get players of all bankrolls involved. Players can win their way into the €3,300 Main Event for just a single cent via online satellites

This is the first chance for players to win a MILLIONS Main Event in a live venue since January 2020. Anton Suarez was that last champion, claiming the Main Event title at MILLIONS UK to win $1 million.

The last time MILLIONS headed to Barcelona was in 2018 for the Grand Final Barcelona. Pascal Lefrancois scored that Main Event title for $1.7 million.

“We’re so excited for MILLIONS to be returning not only to the live felts, but also to Casino Barcelona,” partypoker head of live events Dan Rose said. “We can promise plenty of excitement both on and off the tables with this amazing festival.”

Even more value is planned for players. Seats for the September MILLIONS Online Knockout Edition will be available at MILLIONS Europe.

Partypoker is also planning a players’ party in Barcelona to make players’ time in the city more memorable.

“We’re so happy partypoker’s MILLIONS Europe will be held at Casino Barcelona in June,” Casino Barcelona gaming manager Pedro Berlanga said. “For us, it means continuing to position our casino as one of the best venues for international poker events.”

CHA-CHING: Partypoker Expands Cashback Rewards Program to Get More Rec Players in the Game

Partypoker announced the expansion of its cashback rewards program on Wednesday, reaching even more players on the platform.

Players looking for a few extra bucks in their pockets now have that opportunity at partypoker. The site announced the expansion of its cashback rewards program on Wednesday.

Party is promising that the new program will give cashback to more online poker players than ever before. Players now have the opportunity to earn extra cash for less rake.

Company officials hope the revamped program brings more players into the system with more rewards for players.

“The main idea of our revamped cashback program is to make it more accessible to players by reducing the minimum rake requirement to enter the program,” partypoker director Vadim Soloveychik said in a news release, “and to improve players’ ability to interact with the program and track their performance.

What can players expect with the new party poker cashback program?

Partypoker may be quick to ask how the new program works. In essence, more players now receive cashback on their rake by playing:

  • cash games
  • tournaments
  • SPINS
  • fastforward
  • sit & go’s

The new points structure rewards different game types at different rates. All poker play is rewarded, with up to 55% weekly cashback up for grabs from rake as low as $3/€3

The plan offers more cashback rewards available to players than ever before on the platform. Company officials note that players not regularly earning cashback will now begin receiving weekly rewards for the first time.

“Players do not have to be a professional to make the most of the rewards, and they can enjoy the playing experience while getting a little more back in return ,” partypoker noted in announcing the plan.

Lower rake, more rewards

With the new plan, partypoker is lowering the amount of rake needed to start receiving cashback. This is currently set at $20/€20.

Party is now expected to significantly reduce this number to $3/€3. The effort should bring thousands more players into the rewards program.

Players also have more chances now to boost their points score. The site is offering more weekly promotions featuring boosted points.

The more points one earns, the more cashback heading that player’s way.

Added transparency

A player’s progress in the plan is also now more transparent as well. The rewards program’s new progression tracker is already visible on players’ screens.

They can easily track their cashback points during the week as they play without having to leave the table.  Players continue receiving cashback payments automatically each Monday.

The new program launches on the French and Spanish partypoker platforms first. The company will then collect player feedback before a full rollout across other markets later this year.

Party notes that the program’s principles will be consistent across all liquidities and markets. However, the value and accessibility will be subject to local regulations and gaming taxes.

All of Entain’s poker brands will feature the new cashback program, gaming regulations permitting. Party hopes more recreational players will take advantage of the new program.

“We want to bring the best possible experience to new and leisure players,” Soloveychik said. “It is also vitally important for us to ensure we keep a balanced player base, offering rewards to players of all levels.”

Partypoker US Network players will not be part of the plan as that platform is a partnership between Entain and MGM Resorts.

More also coming to Diamond Club

Those players who are in the partypoker Diamond Club players are also seeing some additions with the new plan.

Partypoker SPINS and SPINS Ultra players can opt in to the new club rewards. More details on the new Diamond plan will be released soon.

Another Partypoker Live-Online Series Heads to UK; Plenty of Action Coming to Dusk Till Dawn

The online-live hybrid poker action continues with the partypoker Championship UK, running April 16 – May 2 at Dusk Till Dawn Poker Club.

The online-live hybrid poker action continues for partypoker, this time with London as the next stop. On Monday, the company announced the new partypoker Championship (PPC) UK, running April 16 – May 2 at Dusk Till Dawn Poker Club.

As in past events in Malta and Ireland, the schedule is broken down into online and live segments. Party continues offering plenty of flexible choices for poker players who enjoy the live game and playing online.

“We’re looking forward to bringing the new partypoker Championship brand to the home of UK poker – Dusk Till Dawn,” partypoker LIVE marketing manager Andrea King said in a news release.

“The venue and players here always provide action-filled tournaments with electric atmospheres. We hope to see plenty of new and old faces at the much-loved club.”

Some partypoker London highlights

As in the past, players can expect several online tournaments followed by live events as part of PPC UK. Numerous online satellites and qualifiers are also part of the mix.

The Main Event exemplifies partypoker’s online-live approach. The championship comes with a £550 buy-in (£560 for live day one players) and a £500,000 guarantee.

The tournament journey begins online before heading to Dusk Till Dawn in Nottingham to play Day 2. Players can choose from several online starting flights or buy in directly to play a starting flight at the casino.

The online leg of the series begins April 16 with 11 days of action. That includes the $162 Opener with a $200,000 guaranteed.

The $109 Mini Main Event is another bullet point for players with smaller bankrolls and includes a $250,000 guarantee. Party also promises a plethora of one-day online tournaments with varied buy-ins and formats for players of all types.

The action then moves to Dusk Till Dawn on April 28. The first of four live Main Event starting flights get underway the following day with Day 2 set for May 2.

Getting in the action, extra promotions planned

Along with plenty of tournaments, there are also numerous qualifying opportunities. Satellites are available for online and live editions of the series.

Five lucky satellite winners also win a unique experience with the partypoker Live team. This perk begins with all satellite winners receiving a ticket to an exclusive freeroll on April 25.

The top five players receive an invitation for a special day on April 27. The rewards for these players include activities such as:

  • go-karting
  • cocktail-making class
  • an exclusive party
  • team lunch

Winners also receive a two-night hotel stay in Nottingham on April 26-27. Here’s a look at the complete series schedule.
