888poker returns to Grosvenor Casinos’ The Vic Poker Room in London for the second edition of 888poker Live Weekend from Feb. 17-20. The event also helps celebrate the online poker site’s 20th anniversary.

Fans can expect plenty of action and also have opportunities to qualify online as well. The event also will include an appearance  of the latest 888 ambassador, middleweight boxing champion Chris Eubank Jr.

The site has several events and promotions planned as part of the big weekend.

Get in the game at 888poker Live Weekend

The Vic is home to London’s longest-running poker room and once again plays host to 888poker Live. The weekend features two main events as part of the festivities.

The first of those is the “Chris Eubank Jr. KO,” a 45-player sit and go. The six-handed final table sees players joining Eubank at the table, which will be streamed live on 888pokerTV, the site’s official Twitch channel.

The event comes with a £10,000 prize pool as well as a £10,000 bounty on the boxing champ. Players in the United Kingdom can earn tickets into the tournament online via daily freerolls.

The second major event is a multi-flight £444 No Limit Hold’em tournament. Players can also secure a seat through qualifiers starting for as little as 1 cent.

Additionally, 888poker will also be offering $55 online qualifiers. The live portion of the tournament features four starting flights  on Feb. 17, 18, and 19. Another turbo qualifier is also planned for Feb. 19 with Day 2 set for Feb. 20.

The tournament will use “shot clocks” and time bank cards to deter slow play. Here’s a complete look at the Main Event structure:

  • Starting stack: 30,000
  • Day 1 level time: 40 minutes (15 minutes for Day 1D Turbo)
  • Day 2 and beyond level times: 40 minutes and then 30 minutes once five-handed at the final table
  • Re-entry: Unlimited
  • Registration: Open until the draw for Day 2

More information on the online freerolls

Those looking to qualify online will find daily freerolls running through Feb. 11. Players must be located in the UK and the top three finishers each win a seat to the Chris Eubank Jr. KO.

A total of 39 players from the 888 online freerolls win seats in the event. No ticket is needed for these daily events.

There’s even more on the line in the freerolls. All 39 qualifiers receive a free ticket to the £444 Main Event.

Chris Eubank Jr. becomes latest 888 ambassador

Boxing fans may recognize Eubank as the former two-time IBO super middleweight world champion. He’s currently ranked No. 1 by the World Boxing Association and BoxRec in the global middleweight division.

In 2021, he defeated Marcus Morrison and Wanik Awdijan and squares off against highly-regarded contender Liam Williams in February.

When the gloves are off, Eubank is also an avid poker player. He’s played high stakes games around the world and also competed on PokerGO’s Poker After Dark. His signing as an 888 ambassador helps the company kick off its 20th anniversary celebration.

“Poker is one of the great passions in my life, so I am delighted to partner with 888poker,” he said. “For me, the beauty of poker is in its community. And 888poker is doing a fantastic job of making poker more about fun and less about the grind for players in all levels with its user-friendly platform.

“I’m excited to officially kickstart the partnership in the coming months and can’t wait to meet the 888poker community at the tables.”

Partypoker LIVE Returns with Grand Prix UK; Options Also Included for Online Players

Partypoker LIVE returns with Dusk Till Dawn Poker Club hosting the £150 Grand Prix UK Jan. 16-23 with a £100,000 guarantee.

Live poker continues to return and partypoker is getting in on the action to kick off 2022. Players can look forward to partypoker LIVE returning in the United Kingdom with Dusk Till Dawn Poker Club hosting the £150 Grand Prix UK this month.

The two-day tournament runs from Jan. 16-23 with a £100,000 guaranteed prize pool. The tournament also allows plenty of flexibility for players. The tournament offers live or online formats for players to battle it out in the Grand Prix.

“We’re really looking forward to getting back to live poker and returning to Dusk Till Dawn with the much-loved Grand Prix brand,” partypoker head of live events Dan Rose said in a news release. “The team can’t wait to be back on the ground and meet the players after such a long time away.”

Live and online choices come with the return of partypoker LIVE

Those looking for opportunities to play in the series have several options. There will be four online starting flights with the first two running on the opening day of the tournament. Two more are set for Jan. 18.

The live Day 1 flights commence on three consecutive days from Jan. 20-22, with Day 2 taking place the following day. Players can also enter the live starting days by buying in online via a holding tank.

Partypoker regularly offers a chance for players of all bankrolls to play. That continues with the Grand Prix UK.

Two of the four online Day 1s are designed for recreational players looking to fit some poker around their busy schedule. These are built around an interesting addition to the event: “The Sprint.”

Levels for these online Day 1s last for just three minutes, speeding up the process. These allow players to qualify for Day 2 and get into the money faster.

All players who reach the tournament’s second day will cash. All Day 1 flights are capped, so players wishing to enter are advised to buy in early.

Even more online aspects included

Additionally, buying in with partypoker via the online Day 1s or holding tanks offers players entry into the Golden Chip Last Longer.

The player winning the contest scores a £1,100 Main Event ticket for a festival set to take place in March. More details on this festival will be released soon.

“It’s great to see poker back at my local poker room Dusk Till Dawn,” Team partypoker’s Carl Froch said. “The new Sprint Day 1 format where you can qualify for Day 2 in a lot less time is ideal for people who, myself included, like playing on the app.

“And it’s a great idea for recreational players who don’t have loads of time on their hands. If you like the sound of this event, make sure you get in there early. It’s a great start for live poker back in Nottingham and I’m looking forward to the next big event we can put on there.”

Here’s a look at the complete schedule.

The new series also brings a big addition for the tournament series. 888 is trying to reduce slow play and introducing a “shot clock” as well as a big blind ante format in all tournaments.

Qualifiers for the series are already underway with players able to possibly grab a seat for just a penny. Players can also register directly for a $55 qualifier to win a $600 (£444) seat in the live festival.

Players can also jump in $109 satellites for the £888 ($1,200) Main Event. Satellites are planned for the Opening Event and Main Event as well as numerous other tournaments.

WPT DeepStacks continues at 888

Beyond the live festival, plenty of online action continues at 888poker with the WPTDeepStacks still underway. The series runs through Dec. 21 with $3 million in total guarantees and 28 tournaments.

A third of the players at the final table were Brazilian players with “GritinhO_Dzi” eventually taking the title. The Brazilian scored $40,500.49 for the effort and continued the 2021 trend of Brazilians finding the winner’s circle in major tournaments.

The event featured £444 buy-in with players qualifying in online satellites for pennies on the pound on the 888poker app.

The site’s latest XL series also recently concluded. And the new Triple Threat promotion promises more bang for the tournament buck. Here’s a look at some of the news from 888.

888poker Live Weekend may show how much players around the world are craving live poker. The tournament had a £50,000 guarantee, but attracted 386 entries and 304 re-entries for a £276,000 prize pool.

The event featured four starting flights, meaning plenty of opportunities to secure a Day 2 seat for Oct. 31. In the end, Keith Hoang walked away with the top prize of £71,740  and the winner’s trophy. This player from the United Kingdom battled Tamer Kamel heads-up for the title.

The final hand saw Hoang’s pocket Jacks flop a set against Kamel’s J-10 to secure the win. Kamel scored £49,405 for runner-up. The win notched the biggest tournament score of Hoang’s career.

Some members of Team 888poker turned out for the event including Vivian Saliba (pictured in lead image). 888 StreamTeam member Josh Manley also joined her in the field.

Manley has seen his Twitch stream grow in popularity as he continues to rack up online cashes. He didn’t cash in this event, but enjoyed his time getting back to the live action.

Added money, promotions part of the mix

Along with a hefty tournament schedule, Unibet is offering players even more reasons to play. The site is offering leaderboard prizes for all four tournament levels as well as an overall leaderboard competition.

The overall winner scores €2,000 with €800 going to the player topping the High leaderboard. Mid and Low leaders take home €600 and €250 with the Nano prize pool shared equally among all top finishers.

Each leaderboard winner also earns one additional prize – the opportunity to play a Unibet ambassador heads-up. Players can square off against Dara O’Kearney, Ian Simpson, or David Lappin.

Unibet is also offering players two freeroll satellites to win a share of €1,000 in tournament series tickets. The UOS is back and should make for a nice month for Unibet players.

Football Legend John Terry Headlines Third Partypoker Community Poker Knockout

Partypoker's third Community Poker Knockout is set for Sept. 9 with some famous faces from the world of football making an appearance.

The football pitch meets the poker felt in the latest Community Poker Knockout event from partypokerThe third edition of the tournament takes place Sept. 9 with some famous faces from the world of football making an appearance.

The event features a $5.50 buy-in with a $20,000 guarantee. Former Chelsea and England defender John Terry will be a special guest, representing the Daily Mirror community.

Players can score quite a bit themselves, with the football legend carrying a special $1,000 bounty on his head.

“I am very excited to be in the lineup for the partypoker Community Poker Knockout,” Terry said in a news release. “I have won many prizes in my career in football, and I have always been extremely competitive, so I cannot wait to get stuck in on partypoker and take a shot at the title.”

What’s on the line from partypoker?

The community event features a progressive knockout format open to all players. The events also include players from a number of other online communities.

Each participating community selects one special bounty player, who carries a $50 bounty on his or her head. Additionally, if a special bounty player is knocked out by a player from the same community, the winner adds a special prize including:

  • Xbox Series S
  • PlayStation 5
  • gaming laptop
  • $500 cash
  • £500 tech bundle

From the pitch to partypoker

The bounty on Terry becomes the largest amount ever offered in the Community Knockout. During his playing career, Terry won five Premier League titles, the UEFA Champions League, the UEFA Europa League, five FA Cups, and three League Cups with Chelsea.

He also represented England at four major international tournaments, earning 78 caps for his country.

After retiring from playing in 2018, Terry became an assistant coach at Aston Villa. His efforts helped the club win promotion back to the Premier League in 2019.

Terry hopes to bring the same intensity as he played with to the poker felt.

“I will be staunchly defending my bounty, but with a massive $1,000 in tournament dollars up for grabs, feel free to try and beat me and land yourself a big score,” he said.

More football players heading to the tables

Beyond Terry, players will have a shot at eliminating other well-known football players as well.

Gabby Agbonlahor, a former member of Aston Villa, will play for the SPORF community. He represented the Villains almost 400 times, scoring 86 goals.

Former player Kevin Stephens, a social media sensation known as “StevoTheMadMan,” will also participate. He’ll play on behalf of JOE.co.uk and has earned some popularity by filming himself in everyday situations.

Team partypoker’s Patrick Leonard will carry the special bounty for players in the partypoker community.

Any player can enter, but to win the special prizes, players must sign up with any of the participating communities. The bounty prizes can only be claimed on social media by:

  • taking a screenshot of the winning hand
  • sharing it with the community on social media
  • tagging partypoker in the post

The Community Poker Knockout officially launched in June. Artem Kharitohov won the inaugural version for $1,209. Vadym Lishchuk took the victory in the second edition, winning $1,939.

The event will be streamed from start to finish on partypokerTV — partypoker’s Twitch channel.

Players Split Top Prize of $1 Million Blast Jackpot Sit & Go at 888poker

Three 888poker players recently hit it big in one of the site’s Blast Jackpot Sit and Go’s – turning $100 into a share of $1 million.

Most poker players dream of a massive score. As short-handed, random prize jackpot-style tournaments have grown more popular, that’s become a possibility.

Three players at 888poker recently hit it big in one of the site’s Blast Jackpot Sit and Go’s. These lucky rounders turned $100 buy-ins into a share of the $1 million prize pool in less than 10 minutes.

Blasting off for six figures at 888poker

Blast Jackpot games are three-handed tournaments with a random prize pool determined before the event begins. Players receive a starting stack of 1,500 chips and begin play like a regular tournament.

The blind structure and prize pool distribution of each Blast game is set according to the multiplier.

After a certain amount of time, the games move all three players all in every hand until only one remains. The $1 million prize pool doesn’t come up often, but these three played for the top prize of $700,000.

“I couldn’t even believe it,” one of the winners told 888poker. “Only the next day I realized that it was true – I won a jackpot. I´m super excited and can’t thank you enough.”

A look at the big winners

Two of the Blast winners hail from Canada and one from the United Kingdom. Each player won a portion of the million-dollar prize. Here’s a look at the winners:

  • Mikaxe – first-place for $700,000
  • ayemaxx08 – second for $200,000
  • aatorblood13 – third for $100,000

One winner said the first thing he’d do is “pay a few bills and put money in savings.”
