Online betting<\/strong> remains a bright spot everywhere that it is available. Virtually every physical casino throughout the US is shuttered due to coronavirus<\/strong> precautions.<\/p>\n

PA online casinos<\/strong> performed especially strong in February, and are likely to continue to beef up as betting habits shift.<\/p>\n

Underscoring that, online casino operators added a slew of new slot titles<\/strong>, and Divine Fortune<\/strong> struck with yet another online jackpot<\/strong>. Also, poker numbers online at PokerStars PA have doubled.<\/p>\n

Online had a strong February<\/span><\/h2>\n

Online gaming<\/strong> revenue peaked in February, but PA sports gambling<\/strong> saw month-over-month declines.<\/p>\n

Still, internet-based gambling in Pennsylvania<\/strong> brought in nearly $19.5 million<\/strong> in revenue for its best month yet.<\/p>\n

That\u2019s a\u00a039.6% increase over January<\/strong>\u00a0when revenue totaled just under\u00a0$14 million<\/strong>. Online casinos\u00a0brought in\u00a0$6.8 million<\/strong> in tax revenue last month.<\/p>\n

Retail casinos<\/strong> were healthy in February with slot revenue<\/strong> across the state\u2019s 12 land-based casinos at nearly $200 million<\/strong>, which was a 5.1% increase year over year. Table games <\/strong>brought in\u00a0$77.4 million<\/strong>\u00a0in revenue across operators, an increase of 4.6%.<\/p>\n

Next month\u2019s numbers should be interesting, with 12 brick-and-mortar casinos<\/strong> all\u00a0shuttered by March 17<\/strong>\u00a0to curb the spread of the\u00a0coronavirus<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Virtual casino offerings increase, Divine Fortune hits again<\/span><\/h2>\n

Fortunately for online slot players in PA, many new titles are now available online. Some of the highlights include the following:<\/p>\n

BetRivers<\/strong> has eight new titles, including Jimi Hendrix<\/strong>,\u00a0Double Stacks<\/strong>,\u00a0Solstice Celebration<\/strong> and Jumanji<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

SugarHouse<\/strong> has added five titles, including Sparkling Roses<\/strong>, Egg-o-Matic<\/strong> and Star Magic.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Hollywood<\/strong> and PokerStars<\/strong> each added Mercy of the Gods<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

A\u00a0Lititz, PA,<\/strong>\u00a0man won the Divine Fortune jackpot while playing online at\u00a0PlaySugarHouse<\/strong>. He hit the jackpot with a\u00a0$1 bet<\/strong>, winning\u00a0$278,430.23<\/strong>. It was his second time<\/strong>\u00a0hitting the jackpot in\u00a0less than a month.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Online poker players on the rise with casino closings<\/span><\/h2>\n

Parallel with state-ordered casino closures, the number of players logged onto PokerStars PA<\/strong> began to rise around March 17.<\/p>\n

Nightly checks of traffic by\u00a0PlayPennsylvania<\/em>\u00a0contributors show the number of players logged onto PokerStars PA has\u00a0more than doubled<\/strong>\u00a0over the last week.<\/p>\n

The number had run around 1,400 a night to 1,700, but it\u2019s been around 3,400 to 3,600<\/strong> more recently. Our recent PlayPennsylvania<\/em> report includes a detailed table.<\/p>\n

Expect a revenue bump for the operator in March.<\/p>\n
