PA Governor <strong>Tom Wolf<\/strong> recently <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nbcphiladelphia.com\/news\/coronavirus\/wolf-reopens-gun-shops-orders-more-residents-to-stay-home\/2339919\">extended shut-down-orders<\/a> to ten counties in the state through April 6.<\/p>\n<p>PA\u2019s eight <strong>online casinos<\/strong> remain<strong> open<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<h2><span id=\"playsugarhouse_and_betrivers_jackpot_surge\">PlaySugarHouse and BetRivers jackpot surge<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><strong>Mattias Stetz<\/strong>, the C.O.O. of Rust Street Interactive, which operates <strong>PlaySugarHouse.com<\/strong> and <strong>BetRivers.com<\/strong> says they are seeing traditional sports bettors <strong>migrate to the casino<\/strong> from the sportsbook due to the number of league cancellations.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cWe\u2019ve seen quite a surge in online casino play. We expect that uptick to continue while Americans are being asked to stay at home looking for ways to be entertained.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>A Pennsylvania man won a <strong>$278,430.23<\/strong> <strong>Divine Fortune jackpot<\/strong> on a <strong>$1 bet<\/strong> on March 21. A New Jersey woman won a nearly identical Divine Fortune jackpot at PlaySugarHouse.com on March 17.<\/p>\n<p>PlaySugarHouse and BetRivers expect <strong>more jackpots<\/strong> as online play increases.<\/p>\n<p>Divine Fortune is responsible for more mega jackpot payouts than any other<strong> progressive slot<\/strong> in <strong>New Jersey<\/strong>. At PlaySugarHouse.com, the Divine Fortune jackpot has hit <strong>13 times<\/strong> in Pennsylvania since it launched in the summer of 2019. The <strong>Spring Championship of Online Poker<\/strong> is set to begin April 4.<\/p>\n<p>With <strong>$2 million in total guarantees<\/strong>, it would be the biggest PokerStars series yet in the US.<\/p>\n<h2><span id=\"help_for_problem_gambling\">Help for problem gambling<\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Help is still available for those with a gambling problem, despite shutdowns. The <strong>Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board<\/strong> launched a new website, <a href=\"https:\/\/responsibleplay.pa.gov\/\"><strong>www.ResponsiblePlay.pa.gov<\/strong><\/a> in March, which is <strong>Problem Gambling Awareness Month<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The website contains information on how\u00a0to recognize the warning signs of a <strong>gambling problem<\/strong> and to find available <strong>treatment options<\/strong> in Pennsylvania. 1-800-GAMBLER is also an available resource.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s possible that <strong>social distancing<\/strong> and <strong>isolation<\/strong> can increase risk factors that lead to compulsive gambling.
