The PokerStars<\/a> Spring Championship of Online Poker<\/strong> (SCOOP) came to a close on April 18 in Southern Europe<\/strong><\/a>. The series awarded \u20ac17.8 million<\/strong> to players in France, Spain, and Portugal.<\/span><\/p>\n

SCOOP Southern Europe attracted plenty of action with 764,810<\/strong><\/span> total entries across 360 events<\/strong>. The guaranteed prize pool received a nice bump as well, exceeding the original \u20ac15 million<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n

<\/span><\/p>\n

Spain takes SCOOP country competition title<\/span><\/h2>\n

This year\u2019s series<\/a> included a competition among the three countries served by the platform. The Battle of Countries<\/strong> leaderboard allowed each nation to battle for the top spot and some bragging rights.<\/span><\/p>\n

In this inaugural event, Spanish<\/strong><\/a> players beat their French<\/strong><\/a> and Portuguese<\/strong> counterparts, securing the most points in SCOOP events.<\/span><\/p>\n

Spaniards garnered more than 90,000<\/strong> points, with French players close behind with more than 86,000<\/strong> points. Portugal finished with just over 67,000<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n

Individually, \u201cpepelurodri<\/strong>\u201d topped the Battle of Countries leaderboard to win tournament money worth \u20ac10,000<\/strong> and a trophy. \u201cNandito-1312<\/strong>\u201d finished second and won \u20ac6,000 in tournament money with \u201cjosele83<\/strong>\u201d taking third for \u20ac4,000.<\/span><\/p>\n

SCOOP Southern Europe numbers and winners<\/span><\/h2>\n

Players turned out in force this year for SCOOP Southern Europe. Those stuck at home because of the Coronavirus pandemic may have been ready for more poker.<\/span><\/p>\n

The \u20ac125 buy-in Main Event attracted 9,896 entries<\/strong> to award \u20ac1.1 million<\/strong>, beating its \u20ac1 million<\/strong> guarantee. \u201cSleeepWalker13<\/strong>\u201d took down the title for \u20ac94,967<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n

As part of the series, PokerStars also held 10 major championship events. All were priced at \u20ac250<\/strong> and awarded SCOOP trophies to winners. In total, these events awarded more than \u20ac1 million<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n

SCOOP continues on PokerStars international platform and Pennsylvania in US<\/span><\/p>\n

Meanwhile, SCOOP is still running on the PokerStars .COM site through April 28. The annual series features $100 million guaranteed across 102 events.<\/span><\/p>\n
