Legal online poker<\/strong><\/a> states held strong in revenue reports for April <\/strong>despite some small dips. The US market continues to show nice year over year revenue in legal states.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Operators also continue to push advertisements<\/strong> and promotions<\/strong> as additional states open up regulated poker. Online poker is currently legal and operating in:<\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n <\/span><\/p>\n According to the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement<\/strong> (NJDGE), total online poker revenue<\/span> brought in $2.4 million<\/strong> in revenue in the month of April. That\u2019s down slightly from almost $2.5 million<\/strong> in March.<\/span><\/p>\n Three online poker platforms operate in New Jersey:<\/span><\/p>\n After months of dipping below the million-dollar mark, WSOP.com<\/strong> reported a 6.4%<\/strong> increase month over month. The company finished slightly above $1 million<\/strong> in revenue for April.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n WSOP.com has been running monthly circuit events each month that have hit almost every guarantee posted to date. It\u2019s the only regulated site in the US sharing liquidity with Nevada and 888poker in Delaware.<\/span><\/p>\n Partypoker US Network<\/strong> saw the biggest loss month over month, down 19.4%<\/strong> from March.\u00a0 Partypoker posted $746,795<\/strong> in poker revenue.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n The network is currently promoting a monthly Online Series<\/strong><\/a> with a main event featuring a $100,000<\/strong> guarantee. The operator is hoping this will boost numbers for May.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n PokerStars continues to hold the third-place spot. Month over month PokerStars was down 12%<\/strong>. PokerStars reported $641,914<\/strong>. Stars hopes to see a boost from running the popular Spring Championship of Online Poker<\/strong> (SCOOP) series in May<\/span><\/p>\n Borgata and Harrah\u2019s continue to remain the only two NJ live poker rooms open to the public in Atlantic City<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n Overall, NJ produced $107.7 million<\/strong> in Internet gaming<\/a> revenue, up from $80 million<\/strong> one year ago. Borgata Casino<\/strong><\/a> inched out Golden Nugget<\/strong><\/a> for the second month in a row as the state\u2019s top online casino.<\/span><\/p>\n In April, Borgata brought in $32.8 million<\/strong> compared to $32.4 million<\/strong> for Golden Nugget.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n NJ casinos posted $36 million<\/strong> in total gaming tax revenue for the state. Gaming taxes represent 8%<\/strong> of taxable casino gross revenue and 15%<\/strong> of Internet gaming gross revenue.<\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n Pennsylvania came up just shy of New Jersey online poker revenue numbers, but still produced over $2.3 million<\/strong>. That\u2019s down about $200,000<\/strong> from March. <\/span>Currently these online poker options are available to Keystone Stage residents:<\/span><\/p>\n The big news was the launch of two new poker skins. BetMGM has partnered with Hollywood Casino<\/strong> and Borgata is now affiliated with Rivers Pennsylvania<\/a>. Both are part of partypoker US Network.<\/span><\/p>\n Borgata and MGM launched<\/a> on the last days of the month so the additional poker revenue was minimal. Both<\/span> have already launched an Online Series <\/span>with $360,000 <\/strong><\/span>and running on both skins. <\/span>Pennsylvania residents can take part May 23-30<\/strong>.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n PokerStars is partnered with Mount Airy Casino in Pennsylvania. Up until April 29, the site held the monopoly in the state for online poker.<\/span><\/p>\n According to the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board<\/strong> (PGCB), Internet gaming generated $38.6 million<\/strong> in tax revenue\u00a0 during April.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Live poker rooms are primarily running cash games still and most games are seven-handed with no food allowed at tables. No major tournament series have been announced to date. The following rooms are open:<\/span><\/p>\n Online gaming operators in Michigan reported $94.8 million<\/strong> in gaming revenue for April. That includes $20.3 million<\/strong> for sports betting from a handle of $249.9 million<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cWhile the sports betting handle dropped 30-plus percent, which we expected the month after March Madness, Internet casino gaming adjusted gross receipts held steady with a slight two-tenths of a percent increase in April,\u201d MGCB executive director Richard S. Kalm<\/strong> said in a news release.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n The state doesn\u2019t separate out statistics for online poker but there are currently two operators:<\/span><\/p>\n BetMGM saw month over month growth and led the state in revenue with $36.8 million<\/strong>. FanDuel saw a decrease from last month and came in second with $15.6 million<\/strong>.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n BetMGM is currently hosting an Online Series with a $100,000 guaranteed main eventStars is promoting the Michigan Spring Championship of Online Poker<\/strong> (MISCOOP) for May.<\/span><\/p>\n Internet gaming taxes and fees for April brought in $5.2 million<\/strong>. Michigan casino revenue taxes benefit more funding for the City of Detroit, K-12 education, economic development, and tribal communities.<\/span><\/p>\n Currently six brick and mortar poker rooms have re-opened within state borders and include:<\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n
