The company hopes to curb collusion, multi-accounting, use of real-time assistance (RTA), and other cheating methods.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The council will now work to decide if a player cheated at the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pokerscout.com\/reviews\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">online poker<\/a> site and what punishment is warranted. \u200b\u200b GG ambassador <strong>Jason Koon<\/strong> is heading up the council and sees it as a step in the right direction. He recently spoke with <em>PokerScout<\/em> about GG\u2019s plans.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cFor too long cheaters have been able to prosper in poker, as they were well aware that any consequences they faced would be limited to a single site or operator,\u201d he says.<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cWith PIC, not only do we have a robust approach for catching cheaters backed by the collective knowledge of our voting members, but thanks to the participation of and strong support from our allies, for the first time we will be able to keep the worst cheaters out of poker entirely. The group will investigate suspicious behavior flagged at GG. The council\u2019s process includes:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Detection<\/strong> \u2013 The company flags suspicious behavior such as <strong>collusion<\/strong>, bot play, use of RTA, or ghosting for review. <strong>RTA<\/strong> is a type of software offering players game theory optimal (GTO) guidance as they play a hand in real time. Most online poker operators ban this type of aide.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Review<\/strong> \u2013 Members review relevant hand histories, with the player remaining anonymous.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Ruling<\/strong> \u2013 Council members vote on any <strong>disciplinary action<\/strong>.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><span id=\"live_poker_partners\">Live poker partners<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">GGPoker is also partnering with the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pokerscout.com\/reviews\/wsop\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>World Series of Poker<\/strong><\/a>, World Poker Tour, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pokerscout.com\/action-ramps-up-in-cyprus-with-triton-poker-super-high-roller-series-coin-rivet-invitational\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Triton Poker<\/strong><\/a>, Poker After Dark, King\u2019s Casino, and the Asian Poker Tour. Koon says the efforts to curb cheating can carry over to the live arena.<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cIf the PIC determines that players with repeated occurrences of cheating at live events is grounds for investigation, they may be subject to review\/investigation,\u201d he says.<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Some players may be wondering if there will be any kind of <strong>appeals process<\/strong> beyond the council. Koon says that\u2019s not in the plans because of the thoroughness involved with and needed in the process.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cWhile there will not be any formal process for players to appeal PIC\u2019s decisions,\u201dhe says, \u201cactions will only be taken against players when the council is absolutely certain that foul play has occurred.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-55255 alignnone\" src=\"https:\/\/www.pokerscout.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/07\/PIC-Announcement_730x344-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"730\" height=\"344\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.pokerscout.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/07\/PIC-Announcement_730x344-1.jpg 730w, https:\/\/www.pokerscout.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/07\/PIC-Announcement_730x344-1-300x141.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 730px) 100vw, 730px\" \/><\/p>\n<h2><span id=\"rooting_out_unethical_behavior\">Rooting out unethical behavior<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This is the industry\u2019s first major effort to find and punish those believed to be cheating. Some major names like <strong>Bryn Kenney<\/strong> and<strong> Ali Imsirovic<\/strong> were <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pokerscout.com\/major-cheating-allegations-against-high-rollers-rock-poker-world\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">accused of cheating<\/a> in recent months.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Koon can\u2019t comment on if the council will review any of these specific players. He doesn\u2019t rule it out however.<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cUnfortunately, we are unable to comment on any specific individuals,\u201d he says. \u201cHowever, our first council meeting is scheduled for Aug. 1, and the main topic of discussion will be to review and deliberate on the historically most egregious cheaters.\u201d<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">GG won&#8217;t necessarily make banned players known to the public. However, GG will share names of those the council rules against with <strong>live tours<\/strong> and operators teaming up with the company in the anti-cheating effort.<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cOur goal with PIC is to keep the poker streets clean,\u201d Koon says. \u201cWe are not in the business of \u2018outing\u2019 or publicly shaming players. The list of blacklisted players will only be shared on a need-to-know basis, for example with our allies.\u201d<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Koo also notes that the company is hoping other <strong>online poker operators<\/strong> join in with the campaign as well.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cWe want PIC to be a truly industry-wide
