Matthew Mendez<\/strong>, Florida native living in New Jersey, made WSOP history<\/strong> in Event #47, the $565 Online Pot-Limit Omaha Six-Max<\/strong>, winning the first open WSOP bracelet outside<\/strong> of Las Vegas.<\/p>\n

Mendez won $135,077<\/strong> in the event that brought a total field of 1,223<\/strong> for a total prize pool of $635,960<\/strong>. Of the 1,223 entries, 566<\/strong> were re-entries with 657<\/strong> players, reported the WSOP<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n

The final table result<\/span><\/h2>\n

Though this is Mendez\u2019s second<\/strong>\u00a0career WSOP final table. He came in eighth in the 2015 $1,500 Razz<\/strong>. After more than 12 hours of play, Marton Czuczor<\/strong> led the way, but Mendez simply waited for his opportunity. He came back from being down 5-to-1<\/strong> heads-up to win his first bracelet<\/p>\n
